Belle Vue v Kings Lynn Euroflop 11 July
eric i replied to secsy1's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I thought that was an excellent meeting in terms of racing, the best tv meeting for a long time. -
Scunthorpe Scorpions 2022

Roynon at reserve on a 3 point average is a good signing. Only another 3.34 points to utilise...... Bradley wilson dean is still in Europe which suggests he still intends to ride this year. -
4 more years of Gorzow GP
eric i replied to eric i's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Its not going to cause a speedway boom in those countries but the sport could get some press or get the attention of the locals which it would otherwise have not. The impact maybe small in terms bring up the attendances of local meetings but I think it will be much larger than having another GP in Gorzow were I bet every person in the town already know what speedway is. I agree entirely, Discovery and IMG/BSI motive to go to Russia and Australia was largely to bring some prestige and credibility to a World championship. It would be interesting to know if Discovery are contractually obliged to visit x amount of countries or if they have to stage a gp in Australia/not in Europe. Teterow is good example of why they don't care about what's best for speedway, Germany has 21 other tracks and while some might not be suitable for a speedway GP, I am sure there at least a few that would showcase speedway better but Teterow is cheapest to stage/most profitable. -

I never said it was all about maximising revenue as they don't want the World Championship series to lose credibility hence they attempt to go to the likes of Croatia, Russia and Australia. Bringing the speedway GP to different places brings exposure to the sport in that country, long term this has to better for the sport than making a few extra quid by staging loads of rounds in Poland. Maybe I am wrong though and Eurosport events and the FIM need to have 4,5, 6 events in Poland to make the series pay -
3.7.2022 - Scorpions v Edinburgh plus BYC
eric i replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The Poole meeting should have been the wake up call, Scunthorpe should have begged Tomas Jorgensen to come back, Scunthorpe won't make the play offs with this team. Aaron Summers would be better guest than Andersen, who has not been in good form. Although the scunny website says 'Scorpions will use Kasper Andersen as a guest for Jordan Palin, while rider replacement will operate for Jake Allen.' -
'Fortunately, the young Briton did not lose consciousness. He also has feeling in his legs and hands. Bewley ended up on a stretcher, the British complained in a conversation with rescuers about leg pain in the thigh area. While still at the Olympic Stadium, he received first medical aid, after which he was taken to one of the hospitals in Wrocław for further examination.'

It sounds better, but they could also look at the likes of Finland, Latvia, Norway, France, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, Croatia. I doubt they will risk going to the speedway backwaters to make a tiny profit when they know they can make a fat profit in Gorzow. -

I think the problem actually stems from the FIM, when they put the tender out they should have specified a limit on how many GPs could be staged in anyone country. It would not surprise me if there is even more GPs in Poland in the future because its far more profitable than alternatives in the rest of Europe. -
I hope Grant sells pies better than he sells speedway clubs, less than week after closing down and he's selling the kitchen sink........shameful.

https://sportowefakty-wp-pl.translate.goog/zuzel/1008232/zuzel-to-juz-pewne-w-gorzowie-podpisano-wazna-umowe?_x_tr_sl=pl&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=sc There are better tracks than Gorzow all over Europe......ok you won't find a better stadium. This comes down to business/money, the Gorzow local authority support the staging of the the GP(put cash up), I doubt you would find the same level of support outside Poland. I was Ok with Poland having 2 gps because it was the biggest market, I thought 3 was too many but 4 is just a joke(over 1/3 rd of a World series in one country). -
Unfortunately Eurosports Events have done a deal for 4 more years of the Gorzow GP, I guess money talks. This probably means a continuation of 4 Polish GPs in the World championship as I can't see them dropping Torun, Wroclaw or Warsaw.

Scunthorpe Scorpions 2022
eric i replied to IronScorpion's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Thomas Jorgensen must need some more rides, no meetings in Denmark in July and only 5 left in August( none clash with Scunny fixtures), he doesn't seem to ride Poland or Sweden. Kennedy or Palin for Jorgensen? -
Scunthorpe Scorpions 2022
eric i replied to IronScorpion's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I would rather struggle on with guests for the rest of the season, 4.34 points under the limit. I hope there is another change coming. -
I personally prefer tracks bigger than 260m but what's far more important is, 'shorter straights and sweeping turns'. Preferably some width to the track so riders can explore different lines. Best of luck to the Management.

Well not really hindsight I was surprise at the time , Worral had already beaten Allen and Kennedy in heat 3, overtaken Allen and getting one of the fastest time for along time round ewr 56.46, Zach looked well off the pace in his first one. It was golden opportunity. -

Bet Poole are kicking themselves they didn't use a tac sub probably would have won that. Why was there no grading or watering? -

It's tall order for Scunny to make the playoffs now, as predicted at the start of the year, away form has let us down. Is it worth bring in ty procter at reserve for kennedy, knowing realistically we need to win at Berwick and Redcar. We could maybe bring in Anders Rowe for Coles. -
