Scunthorpe Scorpions 2022
eric i replied to IronScorpion's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Chance of scunny making play offs now redcar lost to Glasgow. If scunny get a point from either Berwick or Redcar away, it would almost certainly mean Redcar would need to get a point or better away at Plymouth. Scunny have got a better point difference which could prove crucial. Scunny win at Redcar there through. Scunny get 1 point at both Redcar and Berwick, Redcar then need to win at Plymouth. Scunny win at Berwick and get nothing at Redcar, Redcar need to win at Plymouth. I give up, loads of permutations. -

Going off previous years it does seem Fricke is in, if Bewley remains in top 6. -

Holder was lucky to get back in that rerun, I watched it back and he clearly tried to cut back under lambet and just ran into him. -

I don't think Thomsen will get a wildcard, as long Lambet keeps scoring points in GPs. He could do with finishing higher than the Aussie who doesn't qualify here. -

350 to 400, and haven't got above 600 according to report in star, but point being the same regardless. Clubs have moved up and down leagues in the past and seen little change in their attendance. If you are club struggling at the bottom of the table for a number years, its better to move down and see if you can make it pay being a big fish in small pond.
-
Why don't Birmingham move into the NL they would still get the same 600 diehards turning up but the rider wages would be lower. If they had a really successful team and their advertising campaign bares fruit they might get nearer their break even figure. If they win some trophies and the the crowds grow then look at returning to Championship.

Ihttp://www.internationalspeedway.co.uk/extra9.htm 2011, 43,640 2012, 38,000 2013, 38,760 2014, 41,800 2015, ? 2016, 40,974 2017, ? 2018, ? 2019, 33,583 2022, 19,000( iffy someone spoke to someone who works at the stadium) I am not sure where exactly these figures are from so I not sure how accurate they are but they look more plausible than 45000/50000 quoted by some.

Capacity for speedway was 62500, I am not sure if they cover up more seats now, but that's 11431 covered up/unviable. The highest attendance was in 2010 at 44,150, that was 70.64% of available seats were filled if you believe the figures.

There is a new speedway track in sydney..... https://www.coliseum-online.com/new-australia-speedway-cherry-on-the-cake/ Its already built but I read they were still sorting out the drainage. I am not sure it would be viable with a 7000 capacity, maybe they need to 2 GPs in Aussie to cover the costs.

To me there looks like there's space to widen the straights by a couple of meters(and still have the FIM 2meter buffer zone), and maybe bring the curb in a little on the bends. The dimensions would be closer to Warsaw which generally produces better racing. The Track was like a return to the early days of Cardiff but they had got the track largely right for the last 10 years or so. I think its a good thing the GP is in September next year as there is far less chance of a heat wave, as I believe that is what made the track prep difficult. If this is the case maybe Ole Olsen could release a statement to say something similar as it might reassure fans.
-
They don't seem to be selling any tickets on lower tier for next year.
-
Scunthorpe it is then.
-
Its the 30 degree plus heat that dries the track out. Need to hold the GP latter in the year. Cardiff can be a good track.....
-
They have a supercross event on October 8th.
-
I think the track drying has been a problem in the past, I don't think the material binds together as well if its not got the correct moisture levels. I have always wondered why they don't do Cardiff in September or October, there would be no drying issues and probably less pressure on hotel prices in the area(although they would still be expensive).

This is laughable.

Who takes Adams place if he can't take his place? will his rides be split between the reserves?

Poland has 4 and probably will continue to have 4, Sweden has 1.
