  1. Absolutely nothing to do with Buster. https://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/motorcycling/heavy-traffic-forced-peterborough-panthers-skipper-to-miss-a-welcome-win-4236413
  2. Someone should probably tell him that then, because he has no knowledge of this as of 8am 29/07.
  3. Caught in a massive traffic jam driving to the airport this morning, traffic at a standstill for hours. He even sent me pictures.
  4. There’s none so blind as those that can’t see. Sadly.
  5. I’m 400 metres from the track it has rained continuously from 11pm Sunday until about midday today. It chucked it down again at 4pm for over an hour. Given it rained all day on Saturday as well, I would say the correct decision was made.
  6. Speedway in the U.K. has been broken for years, decades in fact, every year I think it can’t get any worse and it always does. Expectations need to be dramatically lowered, Speedway in the U.K. needs to be semi professional/amateur racing to survive as a sport instead of putting a sticking plaster on it every November.
  7. I am not surprised the meeting is off following the rain all day yesterday. Even if the track was managed to be salvaged there would be nowhere to park as the hard standing area of parking at the Showground is being currently used for vehicle parking and maintenance for an as yet unapproved retrospective planning application venture and furthermore the Showground custodians haven’t bothered to cut the grass in the surrounding fields (where people would normally park) for weeks and in places the grass and weeds are about three foot high and obviously now hold a lot of water. It has the look and feel of an area that is being deliberately run into the ground. I have made my observations to our local councillor.
  8. The person who said he had been dropped did so a couple of days before he rode at Leicester. He then got injured two days later practicing in Denmark and was advised to rest for seven days, he supplied a medical certificate to the club. He is scheduled to return to racing next week as long as his injury has cleared up, which I think it will have. There’s no hmmm about it.
  9. The bloke running AEPG is a clown, we know it, his staff know it and his security team know it.
  10. It’s purely and simply down to a crap website, it goes to the current date every day for several of the events.
  11. You continue to talk utter shyte. When are you going learn numbnuts that you embarrass yourself and the club you support with your endless drivel.
  12. The planning application hasn’t been made public yet. Any day soon I have been told for the last three weeks.
  13. And there is nothing scheduled to take part at the Showground on Monday 5th June according to their (pretty useless) what’s on listings. There is a cycling event this Saturday and Sunday but that is only usually on the outskirts of the Arena. Begs the question why are we having to take the air fence down today?
  14. But that isn’t necessarily so. The development plans should make provision for a new facility according to the councils Peterborough local plan (LP30). Whether this happens or not is what we are all waiting to see when the development plans are published on the councils planning portal. If a new facility is included in some way then the owner has something tangible to sell, if a new facility is not included, then a long drawn out battle will undoubtedly commence.
  15. The hindsight weather forecasters will be disappointed to learn that it’s been chucking it down in Alwalton since 7:30pm.
  16. It was the right call, the forecast was horrendous. Anyway it’s raining in Alwalton now, not a lot, but it is raining. Riders often have a rain off guarantee written into their contracts (if they’re smart ) to cover any wasted travel costs should they arrive in the country before a meeting is postponed. It used to be (not sure if it still is) that if you call a meeting off post midday you still had to pay rent to the Showground. It can be very expensive to call a meeting off after midday. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
  17. Still says awaiting decision on the council planning portal. National Highways have put in a temporary objection though, wanting more detailed traffic studies and information before mid June.
  18. You don’t half talk some pony. You don’t do yourself or your club any favours spouting bollocks all the time.
  19. It’s amazing how vocal they’ve become since I went on the radio eh? They don’t like it up ‘em!!!!
  20. A petition (change.org) to save Peterborough Speedway by ensuring that the Peterborough Local Plan policy LP30 is adhered to in any development plan of the Showground (provision of a new facility) would be a starting point I would suggest. Then get the Speedway community to sign it by sharing it everywhere as the Wolves fan has done.
  21. The time for that is when we actually get to see the plans. I don’t know how long the council normally take to validate planning applications but we’re cracking on for three weeks now without see anything.
  22. That is clearly absolute bollocks, I’d like to see their research on that. There are nine fitness, health and wellness businesses within 1.5 miles of the Showground and another five within a fifteen minute drive. For leisure see conference centre and hotel. Yeah, real leisure that is.
  23. My understanding is that they haven’t paid a penny for it yet, they only start to pay The East of England Agricultural Society once they begin to build and sell things. Meanwhile (as I understand) they have to pay for the upkeep of The Showground, but I guess they are getting to keep rental from the events that are currently happening. When the events stop there is no income. They’re going to need a big pot of money to maintain The Showground during the period before they start selling buildings/land off, unless of course their planning application gets waved through quickly. I guess they are banking on this happening. Like I said earlier, it’s starting to stink a bit.
