  1. Their arrogance is astounding to the point of something is beginning to smell. Forget about next season, the track and grandstand will be bulldozed soon after our last meeting IMO.
  2. That would be the worst possible outcome and the end of the club. Whilst the club is still running the local planning policy covers them for the future in so much as a provision of a facility must be found if the stadium and track are to be developed.
  3. I hear what you say. BUT just because we’re not hearing anything it doesn’t mean nothing is being addressed. I know it is.
  4. It’s full of asbestos mate, not worth a dime.
  5. I’m not so sure about compensation, I think that’s misguided. In real terms as things stand, Buster has nothing to sell and a buyer for the club has nothing to buy, apart from a club name on a Speedway licence. I think all criticism of Buster is unfair, he’s doing his best for sure in my opinion, he IS a good guy and does want the club to survive. It’s not easy running a Speedway club and very often, actually always, it’s about mitigating losses rather than making a profit. There certainly won’t be any compensation from AEPG unless they comply with the Peterborough Local Plan and specifically policy LP40, where they should provide a new facility. But seemingly some councillors haven’t read the local plan since it was made available in 2016. It’s a tough read though. LOL (Page78 is relevant to Panthers, the document is on the Peterborough City Council website).
  6. I reckon they will demolish the Grandstand, pits and safety fence at the first opportunity they get.
  7. I think it’s because AEPG have created this myth that it’s a done deal. It isn’t. Supporters, and local residents to the development are sleep walking into this happening.
  8. I’m not really that bothered by the purple rebrand, I think supporters of the club have bigger things to concern themselves with right now.
  9. You are also away with the fairies and do yourself and your club no favours with the continual crap you post on here.
  10. I’m pinning my hopes on planning being refused and AEPG baleing and someone getting ownership of The Showground and putting on quality events that appeal to locals as well as people who travel from afar. Then again I’ve been pinning my hopes on Posh reaching the Premiership for far to long lol.
  11. I believe he does have a small involvement with car storage there but his auction house, garages and processing is no longer on the Showground. DHL now have a huge presence on the Showground with vehicles, garage and paint shops although I’m not sure the latter are in place yet.
  12. The new owners are AEPG but are actually only custodians for the Agricultural Society. My understanding is that they won’t actually pay for the Showground until development begins. Of course Panthers could ride there for a number of years until the track is swallowed up, but that, I believe is not what AEPG want. I engaged with the CEO at an open day earlier this year (he had no idea who I was) and I slowly turned the conversation to Speedway, it was clear he didn’t want it, he even said the rent for the Speedway was a peppercorn rent per meeting (it isn’t) and that he should be charging 10 times more per meeting (that would make the rent circa £20k per meeting)! He’s either a very shrewd businessman or he’s away with the fairies. I’m leaning more towards the latter.
  13. The cynic in me wasn’t surprised the meeting took place at the same time as Panthers were flopping against Belle Vue. AEPG have for over a year now portrayed this mantra that it’s all a done deal, the majority of local residents didn’t even realise that a planning application had not been submitted until last week. The underhand DHL storage deal for which AEPG have now submitted a retrospective planning application has stirred the residents, they are not happy with the increased traffic movements and they are now beginning to take more notice. It’s worth noting that the Haddon development which is about the same size as the Showground has only now started to be developed many years after the planning application was submitted. FWIW I thought AEPGs plans were fanciful and when I first saw them I thought to myself there was no chance of them succeeding and I’ve seen nothing since to change my mind. Why do they want to end the Speedway and every other event? It’s obvious really, they want it to become a desert wasteland full of cars and vans, that becomes an eyesore and so they hope the council will eventually approve the plans to develop it. All depends how big the councils balls are I guess.
  14. They only submitted a planning application last week, they’ll be lucky to sink a brick in the ground before 2028, if at all.
  15. Turns out the interval was held after Heat 7 to allow the riders to fit new tyres as they were all shredded by then.
  16. If you didn’t have an interval you wouldn’t get any food and drink vendors at the meeting.
  17. Some of the Panthers team haven’t been able to get on track for a practice this year, therefore I expect an Ipswich win. The weather could come to the rescue though, the forecast is not brilliant.
  18. Didn’t have to turn any club down (although he did turn two down) as he signed his deal in November of last year.
  19. But, But, But . . . . . you said “It's Pedersen and Andersen for sure.”
  20. Riders rarely sign a contract it’s pretty much verbal agreements until the start of the season when they get signed and are in the country. And yes I know that’s pretty crap.
