Somerset V Berwick 15.5.15
Cliffeboy replied to Cliffeboy's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
24 all at heat 8 that day, then 5 x 5-1`s and a 4-2 or 29-7 to the Rebels in the second half of the match. Hope you are enjoying your holiday. Not sure how the track got meddled with tbh. No Brady Kurtz that day either. -
I thinking a fairly straight forward win here for the Rebels. The Bandits are not good travelers to the OTA and I cant see tomorrow being any different. The inclusion of James Sarjeant for the injured Benji Compton definitely makes the Rebels stronger Vissing, Jorgensen and Barker will provide enough racing to keep it interesting and maybe Doolan. On the whole though the Rebels at home are pretty formidable and should hit middle 50`s.

Rye House V Somerset 3/5/15
Cliffeboy replied to cityrebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
As no one has really commented on the match, here goes. For Rye a cracking guest in Steve Worrell who definitely scored more than Boxall would have, and being able to have every rider bar Kennett as R/R was a plus all round. My first sight of Jakobsen and he looked quite tasty, his best moment was heat 13 when he got past Brady to secure a 5-1 behind the impressive Kennett. With the exception of Mellgren who was still feeling the effects of his tumble at the OTA and Greenwood the Rockets look quite solid and will take some stopping at home I feel, however a quick look at the scorers shows R/R for Aspergen gleaned paid 10 and as previously stated paid 13 for Boxall`s guest Worrall. Considering the Rebels didn`t get any advantage from their tactical to lose by just 8 was not a bad effort. For the Rebels it was a game of 2 halves, poor in the first half, much better in the second. Every Rebel had at least one good moment which kept it close. Brady continues to impress whenever I see him, he was beaten up at the second running of the first heat after a good start in the first when Kennett came down taking Brady with him. Ritchie finished with two paid wins and Charlie beat the impressive Steve Worrall in heat 14 and had Starkes steel shoe not come off when the Rebels were on a comfortable 5-1 the Rebs may have nicked a point. Good to meet up with the Somerset chaps as usual and Sid but off course missed Shads, hope you are enjoying your holiday. -

Mellgren for Garrity is a better option at the OTA and Morris will give a good account of himself without a doubt. Congrats to Brady for becoming the new Rebels No1 as well.Could be a tricky one for the Rebels as Ritchie is absent but a good guest in Kyle Howarth, -
Somerset V P/boro Select 24.4.15.

I`m consistant, BCD who would have thought Covatti would score like he did, Starke in the team and the Rebs would have won. -
After a great win last night back to League Cup tonight against a strange looking Peterborough side with three guests. I should imagine the Panthers will be hoping Covatti repeats his heroics from the previous week. Despite this I`m going for a Rebels win again with not too much trouble,

Fairly evenly matched top 5's I think, reserve strength could be the key although I think Starke did ok last season . -

The starting averages for the top five of Somerset and Ippo are seperated by half a point . -

Yeah no problem there, your team does look very solid , but then again it has done at the beginning of the season a few times before, the trick is still to be there at the sharp end. I dont think Gino would have got 7 if he had been riding, but I do think Paul would have managed more than 2, but you can only beat what is in front of you.Hopefully Paul will be back next week or we will be in the same trouble as we were yesterday.Onwards and upwards lol. -

Pile up for Poole, ankle Three of Gino`s rides are included in Ippo`s 29 points, the only one that wasnt was Nico`s win.So I will give you the three for that so that is now 42-32.The point I was making was how poor we were at reserve not the overall score, but the Rebels top 5 comfortably out scored the Witches by counting Gino`s r/r`s. In the scores Statto has given ritchie and cam 5 rides and Rohan 6, but also itemised Gino`s r/r`s, in your world 42-36 for top 5 and Ippo`s reserve scores and you get 52. -

On the Compton issue I think Gary will probably give him the P/Boro match and if things remain the same it will be bye. A quick look at the Rebels home matches shows he has only beaten Perks. I know that finding a replacement will be tough , but surely anything must be better than not beating anyone. I had a feeling that without Starke we could get bitten, but given Covatti had an extraordinary night only two extra points at reserve would have done the job, not much wrong with the Rebels top 5 who dominated the Witches equivalent 42-29. -

Also hoping for a Lanham/Worrall backlash from a not very good show at Foxhall. -

The Manzeres situation is equalised by Starke not riding leaving the Rebels vulnerable at reserve. I think the Rebs should have the top end under control , but in Daniel King the Witches have probably the top performer in the PL so far. Rebels to win for me but only by about 12 , can't see top 50's this time. -

Traditionally a tough gig for the Rebels although Doyley never had much trouble so not really expecting much tonight. However Lanham and Worrall could endear themselves to the Fans with a good show regardless of the score. Cant see anyone troubling King who is in great form at the moment , Tungate due a good one aswell so could be an uphill battle. -

Cliffeboy replied to JamesM09's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Vissing in for Kennett makes the Rockets stronger imo and i expect him to hit double figures from 5 starts, Danes generally go well around our place even if they haven't seen the place, still fancy us though by about 12. If Worrell and lanham continue their improvement could be a few more. -
Vissing a better bet than Kennett at our place, and going quite well at the moment.
