I think I can recall reading an artical in the SPeedway News(Prior to Star)in about 1959, that Howdy Byford wrote regarding taking a team of riders to Venezuella.

Sorry about this, but did I miss something about Lukas Dryml, has he been injured? -
I think you are right, I didn't expect him to compete as well as he did and I feel he was a little unlucky in his last ride as well.

Well, we all know it was a pretty shocking performance, especially as the whole team were supposed to be track specialists! I would be inclined to drop Richardson (he is now a spent force) and Stead for Thursday and leave Olly in. We are almost certainly going to get slaughtered on Thursday as well, so we might as well give the younger ones the experience and hope for the best. If Jim Lynch were brave enough, I would also drop Nicholls and bring in Wright or Bridger, preferably Wright. -
Shazzybird, He has promised them to me, we are just trying to arrange a meet.

It would be far too close together and the WTC would lose credibility as the riders would be unable to psych themselves up for sucha major event some 15 hours after the GP. -

Whatever the true facts are, one fact is that he put his Club first. More riders should show his example! -

If they could get it on, I think Wembley would be great. Its right next door to a main line railway station as well. I bet the Wembley Administrators would really like to get speedway at Wembley because they need the revenue badly!! -
Many thanks

Can I have the address to send a cjeque to for a full year please? -
It really sounds fantastic but my big concern is, with all of these people going in coaches etc, am I likely to get in. we will b etravelling from Oxford and if it is impossible to get in to see anything, then it will be a long way to go to be dissappointed.

One of the unluckiest riders on the night was someone who I dont think has been mentioned at all over some of the incidents and re-runs is Hans Andersen. On two occasions he was leading and in the re-runs he finished 3rd. The first one in particular he was leading comfortably and I think it was on the 3rd lap and it should have been awarded. Unfortunately races dont seem to be awarded in GHPs for some reason! -
