Surely not BWD at number 1, that would be ridiculous, 4+1 on his last meeting at brough! And that wouldn’t of been from number 1 position either! Just read a comment saying he has a team in Poland to from his Twitter page so that will rule us out. And now he signs…

Definitely.. the Edinburgh trust even mentioned on Facebook coming down to meet the fans.

The average attendance has probably been about 500 over the course of the season and on speedway terms Granty has actually made profit. I think with a main promoter / co promoter with fans contributing also we can keep Newcastle Speedway alive and continuing for years hopefully at a new track in the future.

I totally agree.. every day, week that goes by we are running out of time / funds. Newcastle Diamonds Facebook / Supporters club should be doing something but seem to have given up.. There should be a post similar to Twitter one “Save Newcastle Speedway” and get votes going etc to see who would be interested but just seem defeated.

So just £25-30 from everyone who turned up last night.. they loved the club that much to turn up to the finale, surely they will contribute

Who has placed that figure on the club? The BSPA?

Just curious and how many fans would be willing to get involved, probably nowhere near enough but until know figures wouldn’t find out.

So the positive news was people interested in getting together to buy the club? Just curious what are the start up costs?

Thanks very much for everything you do for the club John… it’s much appreciated (by most!).. fingers crossed. I think if we had Ben we would of lost by more as I think we got 11 points from his rides.. the 4-2 would of been a nice fitting 45-44 to the Diamonds.

Exactly.. surely Newcastle Speedway Facebook page should be doing this and should of when the statement about it maybe being the last meeting went out. Every day is vital and they need to get something out..

More needs to be done on Facebook etc from Newcastle Speedway page to get the message out about getting a new promoter, it might not come off at all but the defeatist attitude and every post looking as though that’s it. If we put out a big poster etc saying we are looking for new promoter and mention fan consortium to gather interest it might help. A massive thank you the people who turned up tonight and haven’t ever been or haven’t been for 40-50 years… what is the point? Oh wow you got to walk the track

Ok we get you don’t like Ben

RIP Dave

And as much as the attendances have been low this season, not having freeloaders getting in has been one of the positives.

But… George English nicest man in speedway isn’t he? Highly respected etc etc I hope he and his cronies are ashamed of the state they left the club in putting its future in doubt!

We were talking about the fan owned club and saving the diamonds, why would Rob give an update on that?

Ignore the idiots and clowns John, anyone who is still a friend with English after all this is a joke. Instead of asking Rob to go on the mic maybe Keith could ask his mate English to go on the centre green and be interviewed by John and Granty.. that would be good

It needs to go on Facebook really about meeting in bar or speaking to you at some point. We really need supporters club or official Facebook to put something up to let people know.

This is about the fan funded club not an update in general.. Rob is leaving as he has had enough.

So… If Rob didn’t make a loss on speedway terms, fair enough we didn’t have the strongest team.. Promoters and interested parties it’s time to apply now (please form a queue).

Made a profit including the 10k fans raised so a 5k loss really? Either way I thought it might of been a lot worse due to low crowds. Good job we didn’t have a team hitting 60 points per match.

I totally agree, although more people go on Facebook than come on here.. the website would be best option with a link to the vote maybe on Facebook. If the supporters club are on here maybe they could do this.. who knows.

So… what happens next? could the Supporters club put it up on Facebook and get a proper vote and see who is interested on there?

The rent is still to high regardless of what league we are in unfortunately.

May Rob be interested in spearheading this and being involved or had enough?
