Newcastle Diamonds vs Leicester Lions 4pm 20/06/21
Gaz replied to StevePark's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The problem is there has probably only been an average of about 600 diehards who will go each week before covid.. and now it seems to be even less if we can’t sell out for what looks like a cracking match. We can’t afford to lose our beloved Diamonds so it’s time to back the team of underdogs and enjoy the victories that come. We have thankfully finally got rid of the old promotion so it’s time to back the new one and after this season hopefully we will be able to bring in even better riders and as Granty has always said he wants success. It would be a shame for the gems as I think they had a chance of winning the league and have looked good this season. -
Absolutely amazing news. Thank you Rob and to everyone involved. It sounds like he is in it for the long haul and bringing more entertainment for families and people in general. Roll on the new season! Come on the Diamonds

Totally agree about Roy Clarke. Some people like him, some don’t. I think he is hopeless and might as well of had a Redcar coat on tonight! How any true diamonds fan can go on like that is unbelievable! I thought the promotion for a change were a bit ruthless and tried to improve the team unlike other years and I have to give Martin credit for that. Ostergaard came in and did brilliantly and Max Clegg has been brilliant to watch all season.

Newcastle vs Birmingham 25/08/19 SGB Championship 6.30pm
Gaz replied to StevePark's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It was interesting to read some stuff in the programme last night, it seems Worrall has tried to improve things and spent a great deal of money on engine tuning but hasnt seemed to of work. You cant really fault a rider for trying to improve himself and get better scores for us. People have been disappointed with him as his scores have dropped off but for the first half of the season him, Matty and Max had carried us and recently only Clegg has continued that. Worrall was back to gating well and looking quick with paid 8 from his 3 rides and it was good to see. It was also great to see Matty back to his usual self and Jorgensen doing much better and you could see how much it meant to him after what looked like a puncture in heat 15. Ulrich and Danny were also gating well and only Bjerre looked to be a concern but looked a different rider when gated. In Worrall's 1st 19 matches to mid July he had double figures scores in 14 of then and his other scores included a paid 12, 9, 9, 8 and 6+1 so no one can complain at that and are the scores of a real number 1. Hopefully last night will give them a bit confidence even though it was only against Birmingham for the final. -
Yes i know, regardless of which one it is nothing changes in regards to swapping riders, it very rarely happens apart from the obvious heat 14.
-
Yes i thought of heat 13 maybe if was up to it but also could of been in heat 9, and should always be in heat 8. Yes it means Phillips has to stay in heat 12 but should guarantee you a 5-1 in heat 8. Our manager seems to make same changes and it never varies at all, and never gets extra rides apart from heat 14.
-
Yes but could of had 7 in total, and the way our other lads were riding he should have.
-
Totally agree, maybe if Clegg had the extra 2 rides though we would of drew/won! I dont mind if riders on form but we only had Clegg on form and Danny Phillips did well, the rest were average/poor and slow out of the gate.
-
Yes after the 5-1 in 14 I thought Wethers would of been in 15. Unfortunately we were gating poorly tonight and got beat off a 4 man team, I was very surprised especially with how well Morris rode.
-
He is quality. We must have the only managers in league who when they have a rider of that ability and when 5 or 6 of your other riders are struggling for consistency don’t give him 7 rides! The other lads are struggling for consistency at the min unfortunately and a lot of pressure is on Worrall, Wethers and Clegg to win us meetings as Jorgensen and bjerre generally only score 5 to 7 points a match.

Peterborough v Belle Vue - Prem Mon 15th July
Gaz replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I wonder who did the track at the fours as it was brilliant that day. Looked forward to tonight but it was poor for Peterborough standards. -
Well done lads, what a performance, great racing, big crowd and cracking atmosphere, wouldnt it be great if it was like that every week . Josh Pickering take a bow, heat 15 match over and still rides like that Its great going into heat 14 knowing you have Wethers and Clegg going out to bring it home. Bring on Redcar (Hopefully!)
-
With Worrall coming into 8 it was good chance of 1-5 if Clegg came in and least Wethers would still of been in 14. You make a good point which makes George's choices even more baffling as Ostergaard could of taken a ride!
-
Even worse than that was Clegg didnt come in for heat 8 instead of Phillips (I am sure can make a reserve change in protected race). He was that bad in first 2 it wouldnt of made a difference if in the huff
-
Max should of been in heat 7 with Wethers as would of at least got a 2-4 probably.
-
Absolutely shocking management decision by giving Garcia 5 rides (he pulled up at the back in 4!) and only point was in heat 1 when Palovaara nearly hit the fence and let him through, surely Clegg had to take 7 rides!!
-
Yes thats true, one of the security staff had mentioned it.

Aces for Tomasz Gollob - Bydgoszcz - 7.10.2018
Gaz replied to Mama's topic in International World of Speedway
It was packed at the start until about 3/4 way through until some stars decided they could not be bothered and pulled out so the reserves started taking all their rides, then tai won the meeting after heat 17 meaning a load more started to leave.. poor show from some of the riders and also from some of the polish fans who you would think would of at least stayed til the end. -
Thank you

After some advice if possible please: Thinking of coming to this one and staying in Bydgoszcz for 3 nights.. We will get the train through on morning of GP probably but the last train back seems to be just after 8pm. Will there be any trains added? Or does anyone know if taxi is easier option and best way to book one?
