  1. Valsarna says there is an agreement with Vetlanda for partnership next year, but no written paper exists yet.
  2. To be honest, I have no idea what Tony means by saying that AL is suppose to ride 6 weeks in England in the beginning of next year. But I am confident that Tony knows what he´s doing. And I have no clue at all if AL will sign or has already signed a contract with Bydgoszcz. In Sweden deadline is 31st of December, what the date in Poland?
  3. Tony announced today that he is going to be the manager for Antonio, and I am pretty confident that under Tonys wings Antonio will get back better than ever.
  4. T. Rick. has today announced that he will make a comeback in speedway, but not as a rider. He is going to be the new manager for Antonio Lindback. Tony says he wants to make sure that Antonio gets a good platform to stand on and that next year will be a bit of a test. The idea is to create harmony and peace around Antonio. Tony continue: -It's exciting to share my expertise to Antonio who really know how to ride a speedwaybike. Tony will take care about most of the things in Team Lindback. He is responsible for everthing from contracts to make sure all the bikes are ready when its time for Antonio to compete. New meachanics have been hired and they are already working with building new bikes. Tony says that the plan for next year is done. Just now the team is waiting for Vargarna to present a new contract for 2009. Antonio will also ride full time in Poland, some matches in Russia and start the season with four to six weeks competing in England. (Note: The translation is my own)
  5. I like the idea of having a GP in Melbourne but for me there are two problem. First, it pretty stupid to put it as the last GP. It has happend more than once that it is already clear who is goin to be World Champion before the last GP, for example 2005 when T. Rick. won. Who is actually interested to pay plenty of money and take atleast a week off to watch a GP when the drama is more or less over. The second problem is the date, its more than a month after the second last GP and the end of for example the Swedish season. Many people have already spent their speedwaybudget and are, after been watching speedway for six months pretty feed up with speedway. Personally, I would prefer to put the GP in Australia in march or beginning of april. That means that everybody start from zero, plenty of europeans are willing to go to Australia after a bloody cold winter and ,atleast for me, I have been longing for months for watching speedway... but I guess BSI has a good reason to put the GP the 14th of November.
  6. I guess one team has to leave Extraliga, if its going to be Tarnow, will Kolodziej face a new address? Maybe something for Bydgoszcz. Tarnow also has a danish U21-rider, Patrick Hougaard who actually performed pretty good in the World final for U21 and ended up as number seven. Another rider for Bydgoszcz.
  7. Does it has to be a Polish rider, or is it ok with any rider under 21?
  8. I am not sure, but I have seen T. Rick. around Antonio a couples of times this season and I am pretty sure Tony feels some kind of responsibility for Antonio (or that Antonio realise that Tony is the best help he can get). If Bydgoszcz sign Antonio, its an very interesting squad with AJ (27 yrs old), Rafael O (27), JD (24), AL (23), ES (19), KB (22). Bydgoszcz might need a kind of teamdaddy, a rider like Jason, Nicki, Leigh, Greg or Gollob. But even without an another toprider I am pretty sure the squad mentioned above could challenge the other teams. Noone in Sweden could imagine Lejonen to perform as good as they actually did, the only toprider was Nicki but he managed to get the rest to make tremendous efforts.
  9. If that true it sounds very good. In the playoff of the Allsvenskan in Sweden, Lindback was absolutely outstanding and lost only one point in 18 heats. For me its no doubt that Lindback soon will be back where he belongs, in the top. T. Rick has something going on, in an interview with Swedish Radio, he said he has some project but wanted to keep it secret for a while.
  10. What is the news on Lee Richardson after the horrible crash in the third heat of the meeting Leszno v Czestochowa?
  11. Imagine what fights we can expect next week when Crump and Nicki will meet several times. Crump is actually one of those who actually can challenge Nicki. I am pretty sure that the fight between Nicki and Crump will make the difference in the final. If Crump beats Nicki, Vetlanda will win.
  12. I guess you are right. I think the reason why BSI would like to keep four WC is probalby if riders like Crump, Hans (or the brits) get injured or dont qualify.
  13. Today, I read an interesting article in the Swedish motorcycle magazine Race, who refer to the polish newspaper Tygodnik Zuzlowy, who writing about a new qualificationsystem in the Grand Prix. According to the article the following changes will take place: - Only the world champion will be directly qualified for the next year Grand Prix. - The riders from position two until eleven have to qualify to stay in the Grand Prix. But these ten riders will get a free nomination to go straight into the semifinals of the GP Challenge. The rest 22 riders in the semifinals have to qualify the same way as today. - The top-8 from each semi go to the GP-final. - And the top-10 from GP Challenge will qualify for the Grand Prix. - BSI will still nominate four riders for the GP. The qualificationsrounds starts in June and the semifinal and final will take place after the last GP. The reasons to make a new system are, according to Andrzej Grodzki, vice president in CCP, that there are to many old riders in the GP and the difficulty to get to the GP for the young riders. What do you think about this?
  14. As far as I know, swedish hockeyplayer Peter Forsberg had his spleen removed after a it was ruptured in a NHL-game for a couple of years ago. Even if he has plenty of problems with other injuries, the the removed spleen doesnt stop him from playing ice-hockey. So I guess Buczkowski wont have any problems getting back on the track if he wants. However, I hope he will recover asap.
  15. SOmetimes it seems hard to find information about the polish league and public news. So I created a topic called polish news 2008. However, I want to know what happened to the talented youngster Przemka Pawlickiego. It seems he has been invloved in a terrible crash but my polish aint that good to understand what actually happened. According to www.sportowefakty.pl Przemysław Pawlicki przeszedł operację w poznańskim szpitalu. Teraz to podtrzymuję. On zaufał mi i dobrze nam się współpracuje. Nie wyobrażam sobie dalszej współpracy z Czesławem Czernickim - zakończył Piotr Pawlicki. It seems, after I tried to make a translation at poltran, that he is in bad shape? Am I right?

  17. Today is the day, 1900 starts the U-21-final at Arena Avesta. The line up is following Thomas H Jonasson, Elit Vetlanda 2. Robert Hendersson, Team Bikab 3. Anton Rosén, Team Dalakraft 4. Jonas Messing, Rospiggarna 5. Ricky Kling, Gnistorna 6. Simon Gustafsson, Indianerna 7. Christian Isomettä, Dackarna 8. Linus Sundström, Piraterna 9. Ludvig Lindgren, Örnarna 10. Robert Pettersson, Lejonen 11. Linus Eklöf, Team Bikab 12. Kim Nilsson, Hammarby 13. Andreas Messing, Rospiggarna 14. Dennis Andersson, Masarna 15. Anders Mellgren, Valsarna 16. Billy Forsberg, Västervik 17. Robin Aspegren, Elit Vetlanda 18. Henrik Karlsson, Smederna Im not sure but I think Robin Apegren will replace Andreas Messing. Everything can happen but usually its suppose to be a fight between THJ, Elit Vetlanda, Billy F, Västervik, Ricky Kling, Lejonen, Kim Nilsson, Bajen Speedway, Simon G, Indianerna and Ludvid Lindgren, Dackarna but the Nordic U-21 champion Linus Eklof and Dennis Andersson and Anton Rosén from the Masarna in Avesta might challenge.
  18. Sweden has exacly the same system (but we have ten teams in the league). The winner of the Elitserien meets team number six and so on. The thing is that team number six actually can win the goldmedal. Today Indianerna has the sixth place but there is a chance that Westervik vill get it instead of the Indianerna. Westervik is usually one of the best team but their season has so far been terrible. But they have reached the final the last three years and have riders like Chris Harris, Tomas GOllob, Bjarne Pedersen, PUK, BIlly Forsberg, G. Laguta, a team that actually can make it the whole way. Fair? Maybe not but probably more exiciting.
  19. I agree, Scott Nicholls should beat Ljung and Nermark. Nicholls is a GP-rider, and even if Ljung and Nermark have qualified for the Grand final, they arent as good as Scootie. But it seems like the Swedes really wanted revenge for the failure last year. In every heat the Swedes tried to win, no matter who was in front of them. Most of the brits looked like they were on an ordinary sundaytrip (except for Tai who was absolutely magnificent). I dont know if Lynch has problem of motivate them to win. And to be honest, why did Lynch ride Scott as TJ from lane one? That lane was terrible and everybody knew it (maybe except for Lynch...). Howverver, like Anders, I am proud of the Swedish team, they did an awesome job. I dont think Sweden is going to win on Saturday but I think all the Swedish riders will do their best to do so.
  20. It is pretty interesting. Someone said the reason why GB didnt perform better yesterday was 38.85 which made EL to poorer league than before. But none of DK and Aus have a good league and still it comes tonnes of good riders from these two countries. I am not sure if it does matter, but during the 80s DK was a supernation in speedway. 20 years later all the riders who got inspired of Hans, Erik and Jan O are on the track, knowing that riders from DK are winners. In the 90s the Swedes were very good in speedway with plenty of good riders like Tony, PK, Henka, Per Jonsson, Jimmy Nielsen. 15 years later Sweden have plenty of good riders in the age of 16-27, like AJ, Lindgren, Davidsson, Antonio, Billy, THJ, Ljung etc. Even if Sweden isnt as good as the danes they know how to win. No offence towards british speedway but Scott Nicholls isnt a winner, and I am not sure if he can inspire people to perform better than their ability. When he got the chance to win GP i Cardiff he T/T. When he after a fantastic performance in Prag 2004 or 2005 ended up with 14p after 20 heats, hade the chance to get his first victory in GP but his start in the semi was miserable and the evening ended up outside the final. So I dont think the league is the problem. The problem is the abscent of winners in the team. When GB will get a rider who actually can compete with the best riders over a long time, GB will get paid in the long term. Am I totally lost?
  21. But tomorrow its two semifinals, so it has to be 28 (and 4 seeds) who are going from the qualificationrounds. If you divide 28 with 3 its 9,3...
