  1. One of those racing incidents for me, tough to exclude either of them (but again, dumb speedway rules mean the ref has to exclude somebody).
  2. It would have been common sense to warn them both, but perhaps the rule book doesn’t allow the ref that freedom?
  3. Surely common sense did prevail in that case though? No way Brennan was catching the Leicester pair in that first running. So why should he get another chance just because his teammate fell off?
  4. Think King was a tad lucky there. I reckon he knew the Leicester pair were clear so he went down very easy. Evens up the Dan Thompson one though I suppose.
  5. Now that is a bad decision. Can’t get much clearer first bend bunching than that!
  6. The race was stopped as they entered lap three. I’ve seen plenty of races awarded that early when the result wasn’t in doubt.
  7. Brennan was miles at the back so awarding is fair imo. Odd that the TNT commentary team haven’t worked that out.
  8. Brilliant result!!! And even a bit of team riding in the last race!
  9. Shocking really, and shows how team riding is a lost art, especially internationally. Might have seen one, possibly two, attempts tonight at helping a partner, in 26 races.
  10. I do think it’s a bit odd though that in the event of a tie there will be a runoff with the top scoring individual from each team, rather than it being team based still. Perhaps to cover the possibility of a three or four way tie though.
  11. Hilarious to see riders celebrating the race win when their team has actually lost the race. It’s surely not that hard to understand the points system?!? Or are they still paid individually by the point?
  12. Not the case. He was training him earlier in the season. This is the first meeting the training wheels are off (and it shows).
  13. To be fair that was a clear cockup by the young race director, they did absolutely the right thing to overlook it then. It would have been criminal to let the Pole get away with it though, he was faffing about for no good reason and deserved to go.
  14. The pole clearly pulled back for no good reason when the others were ready, and at that point you could hear the two minute expiry siren going off.
  15. Phil Morris isn’t the race director, and the young chap doing the job looks a bit out of his depth unfortunately.
  16. As frustrating as usual to see nobody understanding the points/pairs format … pointlessly chasing a leader who is miles ahead while your teammate is at the back. Actually riding to help him (or her!) could lead to you “winning” the race.
  17. To be fair that was technically correct - a 5-0 in heat 15 would then have tied it up. But I do share your frustration!
  18. Very glad to see the dubious tactics from Masters didn’t pay off there. Should have been excluded for “moving at the tapes” regardless, but I doubt the referee would have made that call.
  19. Agreed. The irony is he made mention of this mistake in the BSN interview before the superheat, but then compounded it by putting Masters off 1 in that race, when finishing second and third was more important than the heat win! Surely give Heeps the best chance to get a decent start, then have your fastest rider (Masters) coming through to join him?
  20. Did Sam Masters not know the superheat scoring system? Most bizarre he just raced off, then waved to the crowd as if to celebrate!
  21. You won’t be surprised to hear I disagree with you. If Riss was excluded, he’d have been equally unhappy, as would many others. But that’s not my point - all these kind of incidents are subjective judgement calls (so people will disagree), but the problem is that the referees aren’t allowed to have an opinion of “neither to blame/both to blame equally”. So even if they think that, they have to exclude somebody. A very strange and misguided rule imo.
  22. One of the speedway rules that frustrates me most is “somebody has to be excluded for incidents after the first corner” - why? If it’s a racing incident, 50/50, nobody to blame, just let them race again. Very frustrating! Doubly so in a pairs event.
  23. Yes same here, they’ve uploaded the wrong issue.
