  1. Pics can be deceiving, there wasn't enough dirt imo. A big pile on the infield (ready for stock cars on Saturday) though! I'm also a bit surprised they didn't lightly water it during grading breaks. The result was too dry and slick, meaning the outside groove didn't quite work, despite some valiant attempts from various riders. Even with these issues though, the track was still pretty good for a first attempt, very smooth, and I think it has great potential as a speedway track, a good size, shape and camber.
  2. What does a reduced facility mean please? (Grandstand seating now sold out for tonight btw.)
  3. Yes it’s fine. Can be a bit chaotic with the really big crowds, but I doubt that will be the case for a normal speedway meeting.
  4. £27 for a grandstand ticket, is that “normal” for the top league?
  5. I think James is doing a decent job to be honest. Totally agree on Jason though. Needs to learn that it’s ok not to speak, and not every comment has to be a “joke”.
  6. Really feel for the promotion here - big crowd, loads of kids, nice weather. Then bad luck with air fence delays, which will likely put a lot off from coming again. I have seen bag replacement done a lot quicker than they’re doing here though.
  7. To be fair though I think those figures are due to the match that was shown live for free on YouTube. No chance that there were over one million people paying to watch!
  8. Thanks, I did get it too, so I guess it’s all ok. I do recall getting more last year though - “what’s coming up in the next two weeks” for example, which I found very useful to make plans ahead of time.
  9. Are BSN still sending out emails with details of the upcoming schedules? They used to, but I’ve not seen any for a while, so wonder if I slipped off the list. I did get an email about the cancellation due to the van breaking down last week though oddly.
  10. The “new one” is ready as it’s been working for years! And to suggest “many people” don’t own a smartphone, especially people who are likely to purchase an online streaming service like BSN?!?
  11. No laptop or cable needed, just use the phone/tablet app and wirelessly cast it. Doesn’t get much simpler imo. (This isn’t a “new system” either, I’ve been doing it this way for the last couple of years on BSN.)
  12. It is a very uninspiring team to be honest, and somewhat puts me off going to a meeting there to see how it is. I’ve always disliked Batchelor especially, far too many meetings where he has appeared to simply stop trying.
  13. Odd, seems more complicated to me to have to use a browser. What do/did you have to do, type the URL using the remote control and an on-screen keyboard? Painful.
  14. Are you sure you can’t cast your phone/tablet screen to your TV? Most phone and TV combos can do this, as long as they’re on the name WiFi network.
  15. One of those racing incidents for me, tough to exclude either of them (but again, dumb speedway rules mean the ref has to exclude somebody).
  16. It would have been common sense to warn them both, but perhaps the rule book doesn’t allow the ref that freedom?
  17. Surely common sense did prevail in that case though? No way Brennan was catching the Leicester pair in that first running. So why should he get another chance just because his teammate fell off?
  18. Think King was a tad lucky there. I reckon he knew the Leicester pair were clear so he went down very easy. Evens up the Dan Thompson one though I suppose.
  19. Now that is a bad decision. Can’t get much clearer first bend bunching than that!
  20. The race was stopped as they entered lap three. I’ve seen plenty of races awarded that early when the result wasn’t in doubt.
