I often think he looks like a faster rider than his bikes, very brave riding but let down by (I guess) his engines.

Huge amount of pressure on Max Fricke here - if he can possibly win heats 13 and 15 against the BV big guns, Sheffield are in with a chance.

Not only that but Cairns admitted he did it in a BSN interview afterwards. Said something like he was sorry but didn’t realize he wasn’t allowed to do it!

As a neutral who doesn’t care who wins, the pictures were absolutely conclusive!

I don’t think it’s fair to say Poole cheated though - I’ve seen that said a lot both here and on Facebook. The fault lies purely with the referee. Cook made a bold move and obviously wasn’t trying to ride off the track, that was just a misjudgement, not “cheating”. The referee had the replays, took the time to look at them (according to BSN), yet bottled the decision. Being unreasonably generous, he may have been a little scared for his safety if he had made the right decision, but that’s really no excuse. Regardless, I hope the relevant authorities act to correct his mistake.

With hindsight also, a bit disappointed that BSN didn’t say it how it is. They showed the replays, which are clear, yet didn’t seem to have the guts (rather like the referee it would seem) to call it as it was.

Loads of respect for the way Pickering handled that last interview as well. He was clearly livid (as anybody in his position would be), yet stayed pretty calm and professional.

Smart move from Scunthorpe not to accept their medals, if they had then some would no doubt have seen it as an acceptance of the result.

Beggars belief that Schlein can look at that replay and say you can’t be sure.

If that result stands it is unbelievable to me, will really undermine my faith in the integrity of the sport. I can see it going legal unfortunately.

Really hope they consider a rule change for when a rider on the inside or outside gate moves and draws an opponent in. Not necessarily an exclusion, but all four back would seem fair. We’ve seen it a lot this season.

Ingram could have made a contribution then by laying it down when he was touched by Newman - would have guaranteed at least a 3-3.

Opinions different to yours are allowed! Losing a reserve is often more costly because they can only be replaced by the other reserve, leading to at least one three man race. Plus Ablitt used to ride for Poole so may well have scored more than your expert view might suggest. We’ll never know of course, but Poole will win this comfortably - they might well have done anyway, but to suggest losing a rider makes absolutely no difference is nonsense.

As their best reserve I think you are tripping if you say absolutely no loss! He may well not have scored many, but any rider is better than no rider at all (especially at reserve). It looks like Ingram’s seven rides will result in no wins over opponents. Stranger things have happened of course, and it looks like three or four of the Scorpions are in good form…

Yes a shame that injury has decided it. And how can Rory Schlein possibly blame Jordan Jenkins for the heat 3 crash? He was miles ahead!
