The Sam Hagon switch is almost like-for-like and Batch is the third heat leader that Birmingham needed to stop the rot. Just my opinion though. As for next season surely Fridays would be the option, with doubts over Edinburgh and always the possibility that Glasgow might 'move up'!! So I assume the referee uses the information gathered & denotes who crossed the line first, although with the start and finish line being in different places this may not be the case & the human element comes into force. True although have crowds ever been at the required 1000 level? Never went during the Prem era but certainly don't recall those figures when there was a good NL side. A 20% crowd increase would be amazing for any track but the reality is that could see crowds of 600 at Brum. James Pearson had been give more time and opportunity at Birmingham then he would have had anywhere else. Yes, he has improved a bit this season but has not at any time achieved his assessed four point average and did not look like doing so. 24 races this year. No heat wins, four seconds and the rest, minor placings I and most other Brummies fans really like James and wanted to see him do well but, he's the sacrificial lamb needed, in order to be able to bring in a heat leader. Just emphasises the lack of the third heat leader in the original team at the start of the season Joe T was scoring well at Scunny in the number 7 spot. I don't know if it's psychological or harder races (or both) but he's been much worse at number 6 for Birmingham. While moving him to 7 might earn him extra points, it also means Hagon will struggle to score much at all. While you say Hagon isn't too here to score points, he's got pretty much the same ave as Pearson in the NL, so they shouldn't really lose any points at reserve. Not sure about Ablitt blossoming now, he's had a couple of decent scores but then was repeatedly beaten by Trigger at home. Agree with your comments about Pearson, he has improved - but not by the amount Birmingham were hoping for. I've read comments like "he wouldn't have been dropped while Rodgers was in charge" & I think - I know, that's why they keep losing lol! 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
