And maybe the fact a lot of the keyboard warriors on here wouldn't say most of the nasty stuff to his face gives a true indication to their characters?

I am in no way defending the actions and crimes of Mr Garrity.  They were truly deplorable and he deserved what he got. He does deserve another go though if he has finally grown up and got his sh*t together. I can only go by the young Jason I knew when I was involved at Coventry. He could be a very naughty boy when it suited him but he was also a really nice kid as well with a cracking sense of humour and was brilliant with the fans especially pre meeting in the pits. Unfortunately as usually happens in Speedway he was quickly hyped up and became surrounded with yes men and hangers on and that did go to his head.

Inside Jason there is that nice kid. Hopefully as he matures he will atone his sins, give back to society and surround himself with the right people.

Who in their right mind would confront a guy who has been convicted of robbing two OAP's , one which was bed bound & another that needed a little scooter to help her get about? Don't forget that he was also convicted for carrying a knife during these attacks. He doesn't sound like " a really nice kid"to me

There's no reason on this earth why Jason shouldn't be allowed to resume his racing career, he's done the crime and done the time. he should be given the chance to make amends. if you don't want to go to see him don't go, simple as that, but am afraid you'll be in the minority.

To all the fools on here saying "Give him another chance", like he hasn't had more than enough already and clearly still hasn't leant his lesson...

If it was your grandparent/relation that he had held at knifepoint in their own home, demanding bank cards to then wipe out their bank account...you wouldn't be defending him then would you?!!!

It shouldn't matter whether it was your own relation or somebody else's, he is a vile scumbag who carried out the above crime...and still has a flagrant lack of respect for the law given his recent recalls to prison for breaching his licence. If he really wanted to change, that wouldn't have happened would it?

Find Legal Aid

His interview in Speedway Star earlier this year summed him up...crocodile tears and full of bullsh*t with no remorse, him lying about what he did the best example of that.

If you want to pay his wages, go ahead...but when he lets your team down during the season because he is inside again, you asked for it. No whinging or whining...just wait for when he is released again and you can give him 'another chance'.

If it were your son / daughter who had comited a crime  I take it you would be in agreement for him / her to being barred from ever working again.

If they are the consequences of such actions then so be it. That's the only way you learn a lesson.

What makes it worse is that he has been recalled to prison TWICE for breaking the terms of his licence after his release. That's not remorseful, that's a continuation of doing what you like and who gives a sh*t about the law.

Again, how many chances?!! He keeps being recalled to prison for breaching licence. Hardly wanting to stay on the straight and narrow is he?

What a stupid comparison , absolutely clueless reply.

Why is it a stupid comparison? https://www.timesandstar.co.uk/news/23205865.cleator-moor-man-accused-strangling-partner-case-dismissed/  both seem to be troubled men with substance abuse possibly behind their actions, unfortunately there are criminals and unsavoury types in all walks of life and speedway isn’t immune to that

I think everyone understands that Craig Cook's problems are down to his mental health issues & he obviously needs help. The bottom line here is that all that he was found guilty of is throwing the phone away, unlike Garrity who has been punished for a despicable offence & even after getting out on release can't keep to the terms & conditions. The guy is a habitual offender unfortunately.

How is that a reason to stop him working for a living ?

Minority? Are you sure?   Most people on here seem to think he's a 'wrong un' (polite version).

He's carried out despicable crimes,  yes he's done some time, but some would argue he's not done enough. I do agree he deserves the chance to make amends, but is there any evidence at all he wants to actually make amends, by serving his community in some way?

The difference was the police did their job properly in one conviction and not the other but the point I’m making is there are many less than perfect people riding speedway past and present and it’s always been like that, garrity is possibly destined for more crime or jail time unless he can get a purpose for life, speedway is that purpose whether you like it or not
