Cook is over the hill at this level and if he decides one evening he doesn’t fancy it, you can quite comfortably write a row of duck eggs in the programme

Teromaafan
Dan Gilkes was taken to hospital in an ambulance tonight, fingers crossed for him. I’ve been impressed with his efforts in Lions colours so far.
Steve Irving
Hopefully just precautionary and nothing serious. Fingers crossed.
tyler42
If Gilkes is out for a while (hopefully not) Who would they bring in to cover for him? There doesn't seem to be a lot of options out there?

Hopefully Dan will be back on a bike soon.
Lenny Lion
I don’t think they can re-introduce Sam Hagon nor would I want them to . Nathan Ablitt put up a decent fight last week . I know he scored 0 from 3 rides but then won his last 2 rides in convincing fashion. I would accept & be willing to allow Vinnie Foord time to adapt to the level. If we go for Joe T then he has been here & knows the level so I would not give him long to settle .

Ablitt too risky imo without a Championship team. Maybe a year too early for Vinnie, he's still at reserve in the Champ. Joe T has started the season well for Plymouth. Surely you need someone to hit the ground running now and Joe is the most likely to do that imo.

I assume bringing a rider back after dropping him would be allowed "at management committee discretion" I would accept & be willing to allow Vinnie Foord time to adapt to the level. Leicester got rid of Joe T when he struggled last year, then got rid of Sam Hagon when he struggled this year. Why would Vinnie Foord be treated differently? If we go for Joe T then he has been here & knows the level so I would not give him long to settle. Joe T is a stronger rider now than he was when previously in the Prem, so should be on a par with Gilkes. Not sure why you'd give Vinnie more time than Joe T? Joe has the best chance of scoring points as the season progresses. Edited May 10, 2025 by szkocjasid
LisaColette
Leicester have said they are waiting for results from the scan, which they think early next week.

IainB
What the flip happened at Leicester this afternoon? Taken from updates: "Meeting abandoned as all the water supply has been exhausted." This is a new one, even for me after 50 years watching Speedway! Doesn't bode well for Thursday.

I'm sure someone will put us right, but a "Dried Off" is a new one on me as well.

It sounds like the tanks under the centre green may have run dry... if that's the case it's difficult to imagine how they're going to prepare a track for Thursday?
