The Poles seem to be able to generate some competitive youngsters but I guess it is in the the Polish DNA and a taxi driver in Krakow recently explained why the poles are so good. If only other countries could match the practices adopted in Poland which really does deserve the title of number one place to ride.

In years gone by sport in this country had some fantastic individual events which took pride of place in the speedway calendar and many being sponsored by major companies yet to today nothing other than a few events using second strings. Shame the sport cannot recreate the halcyon days of the individual meeting such as the Pride of Anglia, the 16 Lapper and many more held at Wolves, Wimbledon and other tracks around the UK. I am sure many on the forum can add more meetings to the list that have long since been confined to history. Just as well Poland have not abandoned the concept. Unfortunately I think it requires too much effort on behalf of the so called promoters rather than any apathy from the fans, you only have to see the crowd that the PCMT attracts at the start of the season at Belle Vue to see that fans will support such events... I think the same goes for international test matches.

It would be good to see some of these guys over in the UK but I suspect that will never happen now.

IainB
Does GP challenge trump SEC as far as SGP qualification is concerned? 2nd, 3rd & 4th in the SEC have already qualified for the 2026 SGP, if Dudek doesn't win SEC does the 5th place in the GP challenge get the SGP quali spot? If Dudek doesn’t win he has to rely on aWildcard think if any of Gp qualifiers win the 5th place would get a spot in GP .

How many more times am i going to write this. If any of the 4 qualifiers from the Challenge final qualify by finishing in the GP top 7 then the next in line will qualify for the GP series. If the winner of the SEC comp has qualified for 2026 by finishing in the GP top 7 or the top 4 in the Challenge then the FIM/WBD get an extra pick( 4 not 3) 2
