Well he won't have to ride there again, will he. I bet that's a real relief for the lad.

Anyone fancy talking about *checks thread title* Birmingham Speedway? 🤔
-
Any chance of a guest then? 🤔🤞🏼

Ipswich v Leicester Monday 23rd June Live on TV
OGT replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Start line cameraman has a bit of a shoe fetish tonight. -
I watched the GP late on and replayed his phone performance a few times, it took me a few views and the the TV volume on max to work out that he'd called her an effing c. I'm now officially offended to hear language like that on a family show. 😂

German GP Landshut Saturday 3rd May
OGT replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
World Superbike was the first major race series to feature a sprint race, which is known as the Superpole Race, the finishing order of which determines the grid positions for race 2. So F1 copied that just before MotoGP followed suit. TBH, the format works better on 2 wheels, but whether it'll be nothing more than a gimic in SGP remains to be seen. -
Curses, foiled again! 😐

Is he still an asset? 🤔

Speedways relationship with the media
OGT replied to ExiledAce's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
All the other main FIM world championships are behind paywalls and have been for years. No need for speedway to be any different really. -
That's a lot of plans for an underperforming hedge fund firm.

If Flint spends 10 years as a rising star, will he get a testimonial? 🤔 -
I think the opening line of your post sums it up perfectly. Birmingham as a city has changed beyond recognition since the halcyon days of the 70s and early 80s, especially the demographic, which really is the key here. The 21 year gap between closing at the Wheels and the reopening at PB is another major factor. Add to that the fact that speedway is pretty much a minor sport now and you can see why the club is struggling to survive. Oh yes, of course, there are also plenty of other ways to get your sporting fix, as has been pointed out in previous posts. TBF, it's done well to last as long as it has.

That would make a great national anthem. 🤭

Doesn't look like Brum will be repeating the league and cup double of 50 years ago now. Shame really -
Birmingham only has one more season at PB after this one, don't they?
-
The point, the reason why they struggle for crowds as the traditional speedway supporting demograph doesn't live as close to the club as it used to. If they can attract a more ethnic based crowd, then fine.
-
I think you need to look at the demographic of the city and look at the growth of places such as Tamworth and Lichfield to understand why the club struggles to get decent crowds. Then add on the fact that very few people actually like the sport anymore, which is probably the main issue.
-
Looks like the quality of the opposition might attract floating fans rather than that of the Brummies 7, if some of the predictions are to be believed.
-
Steve Worrall it is then.
-
No mention of tent Poles then?
-
Will Prem speedway be enough bring the lost fans back to PB? Will Wolves fans come over in droves? It'll be interesting to say the least.
