  1. Haha. I know you've used that one before but it always cracks me up.
  2. Your point about kids is a misnomer as at most tracks kids either pay half price or nothing at all depending on age. No I am not in a well paid job, I am on almost exactly the average UK wage. But I am a realist. And the realistic fact is that speedway has been in the teens of pounds per match for donkey's years. Twenty quid is worth a fiver these. I saw a guy casually put a twenty quid note in a charity box the other day - and I know he isn't wealthy either, just an ordinary guy. You're kidding yourself on - big time - if you think twenty quid is a King's ransom when the fact is that these days it isn't, A round costs more than that these days. And folk think nothing of it. The cost per track does vary but only by a couple of quid around the average, Christ you pay more than a couple of quid for just a pint of beer, these days usually about a fiver some folk on here moan at length about paying a quid of difference. Get real ffs. If the product is decent then people will pay good money. Let's see, find a high profile venue, maybe a national stadium, charge fifty quid and more and give it loads of razamataz. Maybe only a couple of hundred will turn up. That'll never catch on. Hold on its been done already. Yeah nobody turns up at Cardiff. Yeah right!! The sport needs to get out of this shoestring mentality and follow the example of how the gp's were invigorated. Money is there among the paying public, they WILL spend if the product is there that's a fact. Folk do regularly spend a small fortune on a night out and they think nothing of it. And its usually by those that have average wages.
  3. I disagree. People will pay for a decent product and these days twenty quid is a pittance. Anyway, if you read what I've said I'm talking about what I want.
  4. I disagree. A round costs more than that these days. Speedway has been in the teens per match for donkey's years. People spend a fortune on trainers and all sorts of crap without a care. You're under-selling the sport. I want a better product and I will gladly pay twice or three times the current pitiful "in the teens" tiny amount. I don't want to be charged a pittance to watch some stripped down bare product. Lets face it, this is 2017 and a fiver's lucky if its worth a quid these days. I saw a guy the other day casually put a twenty quid note in a charity box. And I don't want split regional mini-leagues either as has been suggested. I want more teams, more variety, not less variety.
  5. Sorry, but personally I find regional league splits boring. I want more teams and more variety, not less. So personally I would just not bother going at all. Yes to all one league though.
  6. Can I change my prediction to Panthers 70 Glasgow 22 lol
  7. The professional answer is obviously that nothing personal should interfere with cracking on with the work and task in hand. If not then they should have shown the door to one of them and brought in another rider while the transfer window was still open. No rider is bigger than the club surely. Especially if the team as a whole is suffering, as well as the paying public.
  8. Surely if these two aren't getting on then the Glasgow management should have nipped it in the bud.
  9. So what's the reason for the non existent morale the past month then. Go on spill the beans.
  10. Predict Panthers to hit 60. Glasgow to get barely over 30 including a double points TR.
  11. 2011 - Probably right. Glasgow won it (the league) by about 11 or 12 points. Which makes a mockery of the playoffs system. Agreed the league should be decided by the total number of league points. Wasn't the famous rain-off and the eventual restaging in bright sunshine with the visiting support turning up with umbrellas very late on in the season and Glasgow ran out comfortable winners. From memory the league lead was increased the last month of the season so they gained momentum rather than lost it that year? Agreed. Those two were my pick at the start of the season.
  12. Well, "new J Corbyn Fan", you've given wrong information, at least not entirely accurate. Here's the correct info: Worrall 9.13 ave (Home 9.60, Away 8.68) Lawson 9.06 ave (Home 10.38, Away 7.68) Summers 8.96 ave (Home 9.89, away 8.07) 3 nine point average riders and you're complaining. "Very disappointing" my a"se!!! Incidentally, away averages are usually that bit less than a riders overall average, and conversely the home average tends to be that bit higher than the overall average. That's just how speedway works. So for a nine point ave rider to have an away average of around 8 is.... normal!!
  13. Not at all. Don't be so ignorant, you know nothing about me. You just jump in with your usual crap.
  14. Super, smashing, great. (...they're bound to get it eventually ruffdiamond )
  15. Molly coddle? Just give him a Mickey Mouse trick track with a million percent home advantage and he will double his average. Oh right its been done before?
  16. Haha good one. Mr Fish did get the blame though it's claimed he only read out what his colleague Bill Giles had prepared so it all became a bit fishy.
