  1. Thanks, haven't found that one yet. Have you seen these? (on the official Glasgow Tigers website): http://www.glasgowtigers.co/video/glasgow-tigers-vs-newcastle-diamonds-koc-heat-13/ http://www.glasgowtigers.co/video/glasgow-tigers-v-somerset-rebels-lc-heat-3/ http://www.glasgowtigers.co/video/glasgow-tigers-vs-somerset-rebels-ko-heat-10/ http://www.glasgowtigers.co/video/glasgow-tigers-vs-workington-comets/ http://www.glasgowtigers.co/video/glasgow-tigers-vs-scunthorpe-scorpions-pl-heat-11/ http://www.glasgowtigers.co/video/glasgow-tigers-vs-plymouth-devils-pl-heat-10-2/ The above were just vid clips taken at random, there's loads of others on the Glasgow Tigers website and there may well be better ones on there.
  2. Josh A: Agreed, I've said that for a while. Not sure what you mean. I always prefer close matches and good racing.
  3. I've never liked Peterborough as a race track, as did a certain S.Lawson from memory. Conversely I do like the viewing side of it at Peterborough, but not keen on the viewing at the EWR which to me is a bit too low down and not the best viewing which doesn't help. As Neck Brace Tony said its whatever floats your boat, and the EWR doesn't do it for me.
  4. I don't doubt it has its good days - so do most tracks. But any time I've been to the EWR its been very processional with no passing - I can only speak from my own experience. I didn't go last year, as I was put off from previous visits when the "racing" has been processional. Sounds like they've corrected whatever was causing it to be that way, so worth another visit to see what the fuss is about but really I was put off by how it was before.
  5. No it is NOT a windup. And advisable not to put yourself on a pedestal when - in fact - any time I've been (7 or 8 times the last few years) the "racing" has been pathetic and a complete "yawnfest", processional with no passing - that's the fact of it, it may be unpalatable to you but that's how it's been any time I've visited the EWR and the reason why I've no great wish to return there any time soon. By contrast I've found Ashfield to be a real racers track, and far better than the EWR which I've found to be way, way, WAY over-rated and processional with no passing any time I've been to the EWR. I can only speak from my own experience.
  6. You say Scorpions have an "experience" advantage. Yeah they had so much "experience" the same Scunthorpe septet were annihilated 71-19 at the same track last season. They were woeful. By contrast, and contrary to your post, Lunna has plenty of experience of Ashfield, in fact far and away more experience of Ashfield. Tom Perry also has had good performances at Ashfield, as has Dan Bewley with heat wins to his name at Ashfield. And then there's the heat leader trio of Lawson/Summers/Worrall which speaks for itself. So your claim that Scunthorpe have "experience advantage" is not so much kicked into touch but right out of the stadium and into the stratosphere. The only one to really have less experience of Ashfield than Scunthorpe is Jack Smith but who boasts a solid pedigree and has plenty of potential. So, I disagree with your premise that Scunthorpe have experience advantage over Glasgow for this Ashfield fixture. At the EWR yes, but not at Ashfield. Hope its a good meeting. At least there's plenty of passing at Ashfield, whereas I've never seen any passing at the EWR its always processional any time I've been.
  7. Probably, or maybe the lunatic asylums in Edinburgh have shut early or are full this week
  8. Exactly. Once a cheat/thief always a cheat/thief.
  9. No, you get a grip. A disgrace to the sport, of course he should be banned.
  10. By rights he should be banned from the sport and a hefty fine imposed to deter other riders from following his poor example. By contrast the likes of Les Collins was a gentleman of the sport and well respected by all. The same cannot be said for Herr Wolbert. Just sayin.
  11. Better still, annul all of his scores occurring after the 2014 season and retrospectively amend/correct all team scores, results and all records, And ban him from the sport. It happens to cheats in cycling and Olympics events so why not.
  12. He was critical of the track, on precise words from memory lack of grip or no grip was mentioned and he couldn't give advice to younger members of the team as he didn't even know himself what was working on that track.
  13. Don't agree about Scunny and Somerset, any time I've been at the EWR the "racing" has been processional with no passing, and although I haven't been in person to Somerset's track I've seen it on Sky and the testimony of Joe Screen an experienced rider was damning regarding the track. In contrast I've seen far more passing in one or two matches at Ashfield than I've ever seen at the EWR over about 7 or 8 matches which is why I've no great wish to return there. Agree about the "bar", who's the grumpy guy running it, and while some of the viewing at Ashfield is excellent there are a few blind spots, including the refs box sometimes.
  14. Yeah that's in the evening when the paying public are in, but would you expect to pay to see them in the afternoon do the sound check and no actual songs (or races)
  15. Appears you aren't aware that the Ashfield track was dug up during the close season and completely re-laid from the base up, all the shale replaced, reportedly with the aim of providing a racing track that encourages passing. As it was the Ashfield track in 2016 provided far more passing than I've ever seen at the EWR. If you don't believe me check out the sample vids on Glasgow's website, you will soon lose count of the number of close races and breathtaking passes. You mention gate and go, any time I've been at the EWR (7 or 8 times last few years) its all been gate and go with no passing at all, the saying about stones and glass houses springs to mind.
  16. You'll need to go through passport control then, add another hour, sorry that's just getting out of East Lothian you'll need the same at the other end.
  17. Haha. It probably needed killed. Anyway back on topic, best of luck to David Howe in 2017, whatever happens hope its injury free.
  18. Puddings. Not to be confused with dumplings. Although sometimes interchangeable e.g. "In 2014 season Kevin whatshisname rode like a .............." - insert 'pudding' or 'dumpling' or whatever your choice.
  19. Probably longer than the use by date of a sporting venue we shouldn't mention
  20. You guys put salt n sauce on everything though, including on a fish supper
  21. It aint sliced, its one cucumber shape and size lump of black pudding deep fried in batter. Add chips, and voila you have a black pudding supper. Just add salt and vinegar, or for those in Edinburgh they add salt n sauce.
  22. Haha. Er, black pudding deep fried in batter with chips, where the pudding is the shape and size of a whole cucumber if that helps Do you want to buy some?
  23. I sympathise, can also be confusing when somebody wants "a darkie's walloper supper" from the chippie.
  24. You said: 'Glasgow are a Scottish based team without a Scottish born rider' To which I asked: 'So the "Peterborough" riders are all born in Peterborough?' Maybe it aint me that needs to "get real"
