THE JOHNO TESTIMONIAL: Coventry, 22nd June 2008, 1pm

The main event in a busy day at the STEVE JOHNSTON TESTIMONIAL will be a 16 rider, 20 heat individual meeting.

“It’s the old World Final format and the only way there will be an extra race is if there is a run-off,” says Johno.

During the afternoon there will be 3 Match Races featuring two international Stars of Yesteryear.

“It’s all organised, but we are keeping the names under wraps till nearer the time. I’m very happy with who we’ve got!”

There will be fun things for the kids, with giveaways, bouncy castles etc., and there will be a Big Prize Johno Testimonial raffle in which the
Top Prize will be a VIP trip for two to the German Grand Prix at Gelsenkirchen on 11th October.

This will include a Pits Walk! “This will be with me unless I have to ride in a rearranged meeting. Even if I do the Walk is still on.”

There’s a second prize of a 125cc mini-bike plus racing gear – helmet, boots, head to toe.

“It will be a busy day but it won’t drag – we’ll be pushing it all through as quick as possible.”

Seriously, well thought out there, lots of people miss the old World Final format & i'm sure the names in this meeting will be fitting for such a spectacle.

Thinking ahead on who could be in those match races.

Johnno started his racing career over here at Sheffield & then Long Eaton.Maybe there's a little clue in that.
