Bryn 413 Posted September 14, 2015 (edited) Last Saturday's main event at Mildenhall was a 7-a-side team event that saw Team A, led by Rob Hollingworth, defeat Team B headed by Eryk Borczuch 64-47 over 18 heats. Former Barracuda Rob won the first four of his five outings before having to settle for second place behind Eryk in his fifth and final ride. Of Team 'B' riders Tom Cosgrove suffered bike problems in his first ride and took no further part in the match. Final score: Team 'A' 64 Team 'B' 47 Scorers (in programme order, no rides in brackets): Team 'A': Rob Hollingworth 14 (5), Mick Skinner 11+1 (5), Paul Robinson 7+1 (5), Sid Higgins 11 (6) Mark Anderson 8+2 (5), David Chiles 5+1 (5), Dave Smith 8+2 (5) Team 'B': Eryk Borczuch 11 (6), Connor King 13 (7 inc a TR). Mike Osborne 9 (5), Graham Wilson 2+1 (5), Dave Patten 4 (6), Stuart Freeman 8 (6), Tom Cosgrove 0 (1) Jason Edwards won all five of his races in the Youth 125/150cc class to finish ahead of Mason O'Rourke, Jacob Clayton and Jamie Bursill. Youngsters Sam Bebee (250cc) and William O'Keefe (500cc) both had five spins each on their machines as did others including another name from the past Stefan de Groot who was, apparently, having his first rides astride a speedway bike for some years and rode as if he'd never had a break! The Pairs Championship is the next main event at King's Lynn on 27th September. See the website at www.southerntrackriders.co.uk for details and ways to book into that and other events taking place that day.
