Ipswich Vs Sheffield Saturday April 2nd 7.30pm

Recommended Posts

Ipswich:

1. Danny King

2. R/R

3. James Sarjeant

4. Morten Risager

5. Nico Covatti

6. Paco Castagna

7. Darryl Ritchings

Sheffield:

1. Simon Stead

2. Dimitri Berge

3. Kyle Howarth

4. Josh Bates

5. Jason Garrity

6. Richard Hall

7. Nathan Greaves

New issue of green sheets has Kerr 4th in averages as he gets a reduction. Meaning that Covatti doesn't get an extra ride. Think someone has messed up....

Not sure how berge will take to foxhall. Him and sarjent could be key to either team winning or losing.

King covatti and morten should all see double points, it's just a case of where the rest will come from. And hopefully no one will take a knock otherwise we will be in major trouble

Sargeant is another who failed to score against Scunny and generally looked uncomfortable. The fact he and one of the two reserves will take two of the four rides for one of our heatleaders makes going with R/R all the more strange.

Did they decide straight off the bat that they would go with R/R, or did they go for a guest but couldn't get anyone suitable?

Guess we'll never know.

I think our poor home record last year and opening night loss this year has made us all a bit nervous and pessimistic!

To me it's both reserves, Sarjeant and Risager that get the RR rides according to latest green sheets....

Also seems we should have used Kerr AND Covatti at Scunny...

Shouldn't have TR in PL league cup but Scunny did last week!

Brit reduction in Lewis average is only for team building purposes.

For team positioning and therefore facility his full average counts.

Hence a guest was available upto 7.19 (7.03 + 5%) and not hos listed 6.85 + 5%.

He is above Morten when assessing who can take r/r. So Nico Morten Sarj and a reserve allowed.

Guest upto 7.19 would be 6.85 plus the 5%....

7.03 plus 5% is 7.38....

Is it not?

On green sheet list Risager Ave is 6.86 his guest Ave is 7.20

Doh! Im using the 2.5% brit reduction instead of 5%!

Feck knows then!

Edit - of course the BSPA lists may be wrong....

Check Rohan 7.75 + 5% = 5.something!!

The BSPA List for Somerset's team has been showing the enhanced home MA for Tungate (8.13) and Jake Allen (5.25) the wrong way round since Issue 1.

And I'd agree that if the CMA of 6.85 shown for Lewi Kerr includes the 2.5% Brit Reduction for team building purposes, then the enhanced home MA shown of 7.19 is incorrect and should be something like 7.37, which puts him above Morten for team positioning and facilities.

But does the 2.5% Brit Reduction still apply and, if it does, does Lewi qualify for it still? What appears to be quoted in the Regulations is a 2.5% MA reduction applicable for 3 seasons for riders who have participated in the National League.

Looking at the 2016 regs (18.10 - Facilities)

a1) Absent #1: G or RR
a2) Absent D-U or EDR (if riding for the “other” team) G or RR
B ) 1 Absent rider (2 – 5): RR
I assume Kerr qualifies under A2 and B. So does A2 take precedence over B or the other way round or none of the above? Again a not very well worded rule.

As Lewi Kerr is an EDR and is riding for his 'other' team, 18.10.a2) applies = Guest or RR. 18.10.B ) only applies if the missing 2 - 5 is not a Double-Up rider or an EDR (as was the case with Morten Risager at Scunthorpe), or is a D-U rider or an EDR who is absent due to reasons other than riding for their 'other' team, e.g. injury. Not sure if precedence applies in this instance, more so the rider's status, so if Kerr is Absent due to riding for his 'other' team, then a2) applies, if he is Absent due to illness, then B ) would apply. Straightforward, eh?

Presume CL has decided to elect for RR on Saturday as Ipswich are unlikely to qualify for the PLC KO stage now and it will be beneficial in the long run to give additional competitive track time to his other riders. Unless Danyon Hume takes all the RR rides?

See James Sarjeant has withdrawn from Coventry's team to ride at Swindon tonight, due to illness.

Now that's better . More hopefully now for a good result . Hopefully Sarjeant will have recovered from his illness as well.
