I believe Koltakov as defending World Champion is seeded to the series, then its the top 5 from each round, then 4 permanent wild cards, and then the wild card for each round
DutchGrasstrack 804 Posted January 4, 2019 - Koltakov - 6 from each Qualifier - 2 FIM wildcards - 1 local wildcard

It eans Ivanov, Khomitsevich, Valeev and Nikita Toloknov go to the Ice Speedway Gladiators qualifiers, whist Makharov gets the European Championship spot. Some great racing today, including a last bend dash in Heat 30 by Khomitsevich to pass Koltakov and Makharov to take the win.
Schwantz34 17 Posted January 7, 2019 That really was brilliant racing over the two days, Koltakov looked human for a change and pretty unhappy on the podium. Hopefully that gives Ivanov, Khomitsevich and Valeev fire in their bellies and belief that he is beatable. Not really heard of the guy Makarov before but to me he looks more exciting that Toloknov (?), shame he fell short. As I said in first post relatively new to Ice Speedway but take it no chance of Makarov being in ISG and indeed Kononov after the tragedy to befall him with them not being in qualifiers? ( except of course wild carding in Russian rounds)
DutchGrasstrack 804 Posted January 7, 2019 Koltakov was ill, that's why he wasn't as strong as usual. Makarov was already in the Ice Finals in 2014. I was hoping that he would qualify as well.
Schwantz34 17 Posted January 7, 2019 I've just read through the Russian forum and see that ( Koltakov ill), I still hope there is a serious challenge to him in the ISG finals but I fear he'll be back to his unbeatable best
