Sad news today about the passing of forner Workington and Belle Vue Colts legend 'Taffy' Owen.

Sorry to hear this, was only reading a Backtrack mag about him remember the other week,    I remember him in his early years at Belle Vue, steady rider, and his machine were always immaculate.

Just been informed by my brother. An interesting character and, if I recall, won the very first race in the old Second Division?

RIP Taffy did some memorabilia work the other month pictures autographs ( ect)  Taffy, Steve Lawson, Lou Sansom great days.

Ye he did, against Canterbury... he was one of the first 'star' opposition riders I related to as a very young Canterbury fan in 68. R.I.P.
