  1. Anyone know why Lebedevs was struggling. He's a tough rider, yet didn't seem to get to grips with BV. Can't remember how he did in last year's 2 meetings.
  2. Agree......but some have been wanting GP2 champ in the series the year following.... well they got one now. I just hope he can cope mentally. Tom Brennan must be feeling it too, but he's more mature as a person and will see how much work he has to do to be a regular at that level
  3. Thanks for the info......but filling in a "program" has always been a big part of speedway with me, old habits are hard to die.
  4. For me to print that out would be meaningless.....the helmet colours are too deep....especially the blue and red. Even with a black ballpoint it is difficult to see the points. Just before this years GP1 Racer & Royals kindly put up a blank from last year, colours not as dark. I just printed 10 meetings back to back, 5 sheets, fill in the riders names, and happy using them. .
  5. Sounds good. Last year I paid 30.99 for one month, and yesterday I paid 30.99 for one month.
  6. I not a BZ fan...but what he was doing last night was beyond normal. I am so glad he not a consistantly good gater
  7. Really. I reckon it's too big a jump, GP2 champ to GP the following year. Not seen it done before (but maybe wrong). Having said that, I think he doing better than I expected, last night he was in the mix in a few of his races, came BV is a tough track at GP level. Even Woryna couldn't make it work last night, and he very experienced racer.
  8. I you had paid yesterday for a month, £30.99, and cancelled it before the end of those 30 days, you would see GP3 and GP4 at BVue, and GP5 at Wroclaw. That works out at £10.33 per meeting......and you prefer to watch Nordic Darts !!!
  9. The Challenge Final has the ingredients for a very good meeting. Big scrap for those first four positions, 6 of the current GP riders in it, plus wannabe's and not forgetting Chris Harris.
  10. Bettered only by Ove Fundin......10 years and finished no lower than 3rd. And that was in the era of 1) a single meeting world final...no room for error, not even an engine failure 2) strong opponents ie Briggs, Moore, Craven, Knutson, Plechanov, Crutcher. Could possibly have been 12 years running if the Swedish speedway authorities hadn't banned him in 1966, as he came back in 1967 and won his 5th title.
  11. Maybe it will go back to just one GP in the UK....which would be sad because IMO Belle Vue is consistantly the best race track in the world.
  12. I agree with your comment....shocking. They have young riders who have recently won or top runners in the under 21 world champs. Where are they.... What about Matusz Cierniak, under 21 world champs twice, or last year's runner up who was champ the year before.
  13. Is it know what happened to Dan Bewleys bike to make it do what it did???
  14. Likely the only financially viable way to have a gp in the UK is to have 2 back to back. UK is an island and not as easy to get to as many other euro countries. Same as why no gp in Australia, and surely with 4 riders deemed good enough to be in the series it deserves a GP.
  15. Is HBOmax pay to view? Thought they took over from last year Discovery+, if that is the case it was £31.99 for month viewing (30 days). Think 30 days will 2x belle Vue plus Manilla....that will do me.
  16. I not a Tai Woffinden fan but acknowledge his racing achievements, and certainly respect his decision to drop out of this years GPs before the season started.
  17. It's a terrible shape for quality speedway racing. Belle Vue Hyde Road was about same lap length but completely different shape and gave top class racing "out of the top drawer". I suppose Northampton fulfills a need.....6 teams in the Premiership.
  18. That's true, would hardly be any other nations in it if I remember rightly.
  19. A fair bit of speedway on You Tube for free, Intercontinental finals 1980's, British Finals 80's & 90's, few heats of PC's WC win on Katowice 1976, some long track and grass.
  20. Saw this morning on breakfast TV news....the BBC is sending an 11 man crew to the world conquer championships to be held soon in Suffolk, somewhere at a pub.
  21. Generally speaking, the winner of SGP2 is way behind a regular GP1 rider. After winning GP2 series and GP after GP getting beat by top riders could demoralise the young lad and set him back. When Martin Vaculick came to GP1 he did well initially....but then didn't bother with GP1 fora few years to give himself time to mature as a rider. He came back into GP1, with more experience, came 2nd in GP1 just couple years ago. Sadly this year not performed too well, maybe he carrying an injury or something. Just after Fricke winning SGP2 came Drabik and Smektala, between them they won 3 GP2 on the trot. Neither of them yet in the GP1 series full time, Jaimon Lidsey the same. I think Jan Kvech was 2nd in GP2 just 3 or 4 years ago, he will come back in 2 or 3 years better then he is now, hes picked up the experience.... it was just too soon for him.
