Dan as had 2 bad smashes in his career involving his legs, would imagine both could have potentially halted his career. So he comes back for the last 2 GPS.....where racing is at the very top level, probably just to test his level of fitness, plus get his mind-set focused onto what speed is needed. Good stepping stones, he used good judgement. I'm pretty certain last thing on his mind was to win a GP this year in these 2 meetings. I reckon he will be well pleaded getting a LCQ spot. Next year, if Dan wants to be world champ, what he has to do is what Lambert has done this year.....grab the challenge and take his skills to a higher level. Robert did some very daring moves in these last half dozen GPs....very similar to what Zmarzlik has been doing over his winnings career. That's where Dan has to go, into opportunities and open them up. Puts the wind up me just thinking how brave these top level riders are, but I'm not the one who wants to be world champ, and only one of them per year can be. I hope Dan does it.

If they want sprint races to determine the order riders pick their race number then that's fine.....but not the 4 3 2 1 points added.

Has anyone got the stats would be if there was no points at all for fastest laps, that is just use the fastest laps times for rider number choice.

They don't do 3 laps on their own on F1. It's a bun fight. Basically, they all have the same time interval to get the fastest lap in.

It was GP5 at Wroclaw. Heat 7 Partnisky, Doyle, Holder, Woryna. First lap, coming out of 2nd bend. Holder excluded, Doyle then excluded in re-run. Partnisky won the race, Woryna second, 2nd reserve third. So far not found it on International section but will try again. I'm not a Jack Holder fan but I do hope his injury doesn't affect his riding.

Don't forget Woryna, I wouldn't like to be in any race with him. Freddie was as bad a few years ago but calmed down a bit now, just a bit. Woryna was in the race, and the mix, when Holder got his bad arm injury. Doyle was the 3rd rider in the mix. Would love to see a video of that lap again just to see how Holder got on such a mess.

Freddie deserves a place next year. He got injured very early, he's come back, obviously in pain, a winter rest and he could be back where he was....maybe not world champ material but well capable of being a spoiler and win a GP or two.

I not as close to speedway as used to be in the 60s/70s, took an interest again on 2013 to now but mostly GP's. I am thinking that last night was a reflection of how British Speedway looks at this moment in time. Ok, Dan was missing, but that's still only 2 at world class level. A handful of 30+ has beens who can still mix well at times, a few 22+ who are taking time to make it, and a good number of young uns that have a lot of promise. Apart from Dan, what British riders were missing that could have made a difference to the spectacle? Even if Dan would have been fit it would make it a 2 rider shoot out, so in a way I glad Dan wasn't there (as much as I like him) because it have a young one a chance. Last night would have been something special for those young ones, and hopefully a boost for the 22+ age group.

I was streaming on the tv, I was on ITVX app, but wasn't easy to find, not even using voice command for "British Speedway Championship" or even more basic "speedway"

I watched it live last night on ITV.....but it was not easy to find by any stretch of the imagination. Just perseverance. Seeing as this was a return to live TV viewing one would have thought ITV/ITVX could have promoted itself better.

For a 16 year old that first lap was truly amazing.

Very disappointing GP. It's not been a great place for axGP over the last 2 years but it's been reported they invested in banking the track, made it wider and a new surface. It may be banked, wider, the new surface looked like the old surface (sandy) but the racing actually seemed worse. We all know how spectacular a GP can be. The riders are up for it, but staging a top world event on a track like that can only be detrimental to the thoughts of anyone viewing for the first time.

Are they likely to race this year?

Anyone know why Lebedevs was struggling. He's a tough rider, yet didn't seem to get to grips with BV. Can't remember how he did in last year's 2 meetings.

Agree......but some have been wanting GP2 champ in the series the year following.... well they got one now. I just hope he can cope mentally. Tom Brennan must be feeling it too, but he's more mature as a person and will see how much work he has to do to be a regular at that level

Thanks for the info......but filling in a "program" has always been a big part of speedway with me, old habits are hard to die.

For me to print that out would be meaningless.....the helmet colours are too deep....especially the blue and red. Even with a black ballpoint it is difficult to see the points. Just before this years GP1 Racer & Royals kindly put up a blank from last year, colours not as dark. I just printed 10 meetings back to back, 5 sheets, fill in the riders names, and happy using them. .

I not a BZ fan...but what he was doing last night was beyond normal. I am so glad he not a consistantly good gater
