Very true. This track has made me wonder whether it’s Chris or Cruz we’ve got at number one. You’re not allowed to criticise this track though. Accept it, tolerate a sub-par product and watch the sport die in this country because if that’s been Workington’s racing this season (a Comet on the last page said he gave today a miss for that very reason), then no wonder gates are low and funding challenges exist.

Don't think its a team thing, you have capable experienced riders going full pelt but can't make any ground at all when the same riders make ground and pass on most other tracks but going backwards on this track something is wrong with the track.

You know what is painful, reading your comments. The Comets are fast today, what do you think is going to happen if we get out in front and are fast. The Comets riders have had no problems passing today as seen in the last few heats. Stick to being an armchair fan and it’ll do us all a favour. Plenty of proper Glasgow fans here btw. When they looked at the starts on BSN there wasn't even any dirt on one of the gates, Greg Bair noted that it was down to the base! On the track walk round on BSN they also said they never rip up the starts at all - well there's hardly any dirt anyway if down to the base! No wonder the visiting riders aint getting out of the starts!

Heat nine and we witness the first pass beyond the first lap. Is this sort of issue even a topic of discussion with British speedway’s powers that be, or are they fully focused on merely surviving? We’re getting battered here, so I’m conscious this may come across bitter, but you can’t hide from reality. Stene Pijper, God love him, should not be in this meeting. He’s nowhere near it.

The track certainly does not have the “outside line” this season compared to last season and is a lot slicker.Probably the riders preferred prep.

What’s the script with replacing Max Perry this afternoon? Are there any restrictions in place for replacing a 2.00 rider or one on such short notice? If not and with all due respect to the young man, Stene Pijper is drastically out of his depth and will not score a point today, barring excisions and/or mechanical gremlins. There’s an entire NDL. Surely there are better options.
