  1. Past hour
  2. The unnecessary price increase highlight's how detached from a professional business acumen these people are. Speedway is done and dusted in this country. R.I.P. BRITISH SPEEDWAY.
  3. Always good for a laugh the "SCB" you could not make it up , they were incompetent when I attended speedway and haven't improved. Their grammatically incorrect statement shows the completely amateur disorganised shower that are allegedly controlling the sport. "The SCB Referee at the Kent fixture had been informed that Mr Foord was unavailable for this fixture and having consulted the SCB had at that time had correctly allowed a facility, however on further investigation this should not have been authorised and the score of the guest for Cooper Rushen will be deleted from the meeting result." So referee consulted the SCB and they had allowed the facility. (they repeated HAD twice for avoidance of doubt !) "on further investigation" they changed their mind ! you cannot do that !!! amateur hour !!! the score of the guest for Cooper Rushen ???? what ???? I thought Cooper Rushen was THE guest rider ??
  4. This 100%. And in this case it would make score 43-44 or 43-45 (depending in whether Crewe could be lapped by a non-existant rider)
  5. That makes zero sense. There would be no point doing that. And when they report it off due to the forecast to you really think no one checks it at the time? If Poole really wanted it off they could have just left the hose on like BV did that time when Zagar missed a flight. Next time take the second leg.
  6. yes i paid 60 zloty for zelona gora meeting, but in Poznan shopping centre was paying around ÂŁ4 for a latte
  7. Wow... Poole messed up the chance to race yet again against a weakened side using a guest !!!! No wonder Dan isn't happy. Will their luck hold in the rearranged fixture ? p.off fixtures are usually a lottery dependent on the depth of mud.
  8. Poole had no intention whatsoever of hosting the first leg... It was an empty gesture
  9. Today
  10. It's great that you watch most of Poole's meetings then, the stream is obviously very successful
  11. You do realise Poole could have had the second leg if they wanted to because they finished above Redcar. So your argument is beyond pathetic.
  12. I haven't been since Swindon/Somerset shut. I have mixed feelings about the Ticket pricing, business wise dynamic pricing is becoming a 'norm' so it doesn't really surprise me that they try and cash in on Play Offs. Other comments really highlight why fans have many reasons for giving it a miss. That tends to lead to lots of businesses increasing prices to attempt to recover lost some of the revenue from smaller crowds. Long term i think it is damaging. Especially as Promotions never seem to do anything to make it more of an event or spectacle. At some point in the next years, Speedway will hit a ceiling point where it prices itself out of fans.
  13. So no other team has called a meeting off due to the weather forecast then?? So many cheats in british speedway then!
  14. Bizarre in this day and age if you decide that the truth isn't good enough you can shout and lie then it becomes fact.
  15. I've never understood why on the occasions this happens that the team that has the riders points deleted. Every race concerned riders should be moved up a place and bonus points added into the averages.
  16. 📢 Poole v Redcar Postponement | Message from promotion Due to the forecast of heavy rain, we made the early decision to postpone tonight’s play-off semi-final against Redcar in order to save travelling supporters a wasted journey, to avoid unnecessary disruption for the riders. Our concern was not only getting the meeting started, but also whether we could complete all 15 heats. I also want to address any suggestion that we postponed to gain the advantage of staging the second leg. That simply isn’t the case. Having finished above Redcar in the league we were entitled to the choice of leg and had no issue with going first and wanted to get the semi-final underway as soon as possible. As it turned out, the forecast proved unreliable and the rain didn’t arrive until around 9pm. While we may have managed to get underway, there was no guarantee of completing the full meeting. For a play-off semi-final, we want 15 heats of proper racing on a track that gives the riders the chance to race, not just circulate on a wet surface. I sincerely apologise to everyone who has been inconvenienced. Nobody is more frustrated by the situation than I am. Dan Ford
  17. Rain forecast all day around Middlesbrough/Redcar area on Sunday. Might as well call it off now just in case.
  18. Some very easy and workable solutions based on lots of other sports. But they are as ever miles behind the curve. Football decided to do something with price capping for away fans Cricket counties let away members get in for free, to some games. Too much self interest in promotions, but what they should be looking to do is centralising & discounting tickets. It took them years to realise that streaming was a good idea. Play offs are only really appealing when the result has a degree of uncertainty on it. As you say can't really blame fans if they don't go, changeable weather, a team you see multiple times & the result is going to predictable. Whole competition needs radical change.
  19. Great. After 9pm. When was it due to start 730pm? Could have been done and dusted by then.
  20. Ok it's not cheating but it is skulduggery, every man and his dog knew Poole would do whatever they had to do to ensure this meeting was called off. I was looking forward to the return leg on Sunday but now I will pray to the rain gods that the gesture is reciprocated. They say "cheats don't prosper" but Poole Pirates have proved year on year that they are an exception to the rule I
