Maybe Mr Godfrey will offer a cheap rent & lease to use Scunthorpe if Northampton can’t run 🤷♂️. 7 day access etc I do believe. Funnier things have happened 🤔
-
Probably still struggle to get fixtures in before the start of September deadline day

What about Northampton?
YeOldPitGate replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Possible but I would have thought they will have their hands full with making sure Ipswich keeps washing its face, two huge crowd pleasers have left and its not clear at the moment if even one rider of similar standing is coming in let alone two. So it would take a brave team to also take on Northampton at the same time with all the issues 99% of us on here see with making that track sustainable long term. -
plus JD's probably got 3-4 years left at the near top so his need to maximise his remaining income opportunities is more pressing than Tom who has got a couple of decades of racing left in him yet.
-
Wouldn't that be good to have all those meetings
-
Good post, You make a lot of good points to be fair.

Bit injury prone but they just said his average is too high

Yawn -
Sorry no fag papers

Another version of spot the ball only you have a map of Gt Britain and you have to guess when and where the fixture will be the following week. Answer to be sent in on the back of a fag paper. First prize, tickets to last weeks fixture which was postponed until sometime in September or October.

Oh well there you go
-
If you have a brilliant season in the Championship your looking at 17 home meetings. 8 League 4 BSN includes Semi& Final, KO Cup 3, Playoffs 2. So Berwick could open May 2nd and have 25 Saturdays to race 17 meetings. It would be 27 but obviously i have taken Glasgow GP Round and British GP into account

Had had to leave the UK because he couldn't afford to ride in one league.

Glasgow shows the way
Mr Blobby replied to Wee Eck's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
I believe he was contacted regarding an academy spot and NJL spot then told us he’d signed for Glasgow in the NJL so put an end to that conversation pretty fast. I know a space was also open for Mark if he wanted to continue riding but he’s taking time out of the sport for the time being I believe. -
Is he any good
-
On your remark on Liam was there a team for him ?
-
I think it’s a bit of confusion with the name, they have the same first name
-
My point is and you have mentioned there not too enough for the new NDL most of them have ridden in the NDL last year so what do they do give up or the phone To ring
-
Personally don't think there are any minor Fim events they are all major in each individual age category.

Glasgow shows the way
Mr Blobby replied to Wee Eck's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Pretty sure Marks not ring anymore, the other two don’t think are good enough for NDL yet. Liam maybe just but he’s decided after the academy bringing him on to move to Glasgow in the NJL so that’s that bridge burnt. -
Yes other riders and teams will be affected. Think a lot of people/fans don't realise how many of these major and minor FIM meetings affect British speedway, and at a cost to said riders and family to travel
-
Think Scunthorpe may have a similar problem with Luke
-
This company was formed in August, more than likely the operating company for the GPs
-
Not controversial, but I think the logistics are slightly different with Doyle being in the GPs and if you can believe all that is written about the SPG, riders need to fund the riding themselves because the pay out is pretty meagre. When you consider the cost of travel, accommodation, mechanics etc. which the riders have to cover they are not in it for the money. Both riders need sponsors but Doyle’s income needs are likely to be greater than Tom and therefore needs to get some good sponsors onboard asap to be able to ensure the income is in place to meet the outgoings and still leave some take home pay but is conscious of the fact that to get the sponsors to promote on meetings covered by TV he needs to be sure of where the money is coming from. Selling himself and the sport to sponsors cannot be easy and at a lower level, the same applies to Tom. In summary I don’t blame him for getting his house in order as soon as possible and if that means being assured a team place elsewhere, so be it.
