  1. Today
  2. I’d imagine Nicholls,Barker,Batchelor would be the heatleaders id imagine and Joe Thompson at 4 looks fairly certain that’s the top 4 and I’d imagine Tobias Thomsen would make up the top 5.
  3. May have to ask the BSPL, let’s hope the rumours are wrong but it’s well known the Chairman isn’t a fan of the NDL , for some reason.
  4. What big boys? The top flight is a shambles and will be again this season. Poole owners run the club as a business and do what is best for them and running on a Wednesday night in the championship makes them run at a profit I believe.
  5. 1.Kurtz 9.22 2.Zischke 5.47 3.Bloedorn 6.02 4. 5.Z Cook 7.35 6. Total 28.06 (8.94) remaining im assuming those 4 are shoe ins What options have the aces got? Flint 5.93 and a 3.00 rider could be an option I see.
  6. Never been a problem at Workington, Berwick or Redcar, the three tracks I visit , as they all host junior league matches , intervals , etc and still complete the meetings in under two and a half hours . Just needs proper management.
  7. I didn’t even realise the GP assessed rules had changed. Didn’t it used to simply be any current GP rider is assessed at 8.00? When did that change?
  8. Just looking at the criteria gives you plenty of loopholes I would think... And as has been mentioned, Rise on a converted average will provide plenty of room for guests if his head injury comes back, after he has ridden enough Premiership matches.. A "proper sport" would of course say anyone who has achieved "elite status" by reaching the GP's, should be 7.00 (at least), especially as so few HL positions exist over here due to only six teams, suggesting any GP rider should be in the "top 12" of UK Speedway, given so few top level riders ride over here.. And anyone who has to pull out of a meeting due to a known recurring injury should mean his team only get RR, at best, as a facility.. I am sure Richard Coleman will enjoy himself pitting his wits against the other promoters..
  9. Maybe 7 teams but probably only 3 of them competitive. Unfortunately the sport in its current format I would suggest would fail to garner any meaningful tv deal. Unfortunately nobody votes for change when the end result means shafting your own promotion.
  10. A common theme throughout the British speedway 2030 vision survey is around governance of British speedway - BSPL effectively. Many people point out that the clubs running the leagues leaves people arguing and not thinking about the greater good of the sport. In terms of ways to improve it, what suggestions do you have? The Premier League in football is owned by their clubs too but their board has 3 x independent non-exec directors on it additionally as well as a chair and CEO. What would you like independent running of the league in to look like and what would it do different (give examples). www.speedway2030.org Cheers Mike
  11. Credit to King's Lynn for not running off to the CHAMP whilst making up every excuse under the sun to avoid the big boys like Poole have done for a good few years now. Not Buster's biggest fan as everyone knows but I can respect the fact that he's not afraid to mix it with the big boys despite him operating on a tight budget.
  12. Must admit, I'm amazed at how Nilsson is a 4.50. Richard Coleman is a true professional to a point where he's found something wrong with the rules set by amateurs on assessed averages. 6.00 would've been a fair assessment imo as it's likely that Kim's final average would be anywhere between 5.75 and 6.50 which would be on point with the vast majority of engine room riders.
  13. If this is the case some clubs are going to have to sort out their time keeping. we will not be able to advertise a 19:30 start time & not even have the parade start until 19:35 then race 1 at 20:00 followed by 10+ minutes of grading after Hts 4 & 7 followed by a 20 minute interval after Ht 10/11 then another 10 minutes to pick 2 riders for Ht 15 making a meeting take over 2hours. Promoters wonder why people don't come through their gates to watch. People want value for their hard earnt ££££. The title of our beloved sport is SPEEDway but it would seem to be that those in charge have lost sight of SPEED.
  14. No, you must track two U21 riders with at least one having to be a home nation rider... The second can be UK or foreign...
  15. What about a foreign rider , I thought that was compulsory?
  16. Superb news just need to have a team that can at least win at home now.
  17. Personally don't think their out of their depth more down to how interested Buster is , he has the resources but doesn't want to deploy them now he's getting on a bit and as a team manager you can only work with what you have.
  18. We know there are new rules regarding this for '27 season. New Rising stars have to be u21 and average limit has reduced. This was said about by Phil Morris in speedway star a few weeks ago naming cairns in particular as no longer eligible and receiving the 25% graduation reduction instead
  19. Shame because at premiership level they're both out of there depth
  20. And where does that leave stand alone clubs like Buxton?
  21. Cairns average of 3.5 is to high to be a rising star. Thats why he aint a rising star
  22. Buster and Rob have said on several occasions that they are only interested in top flight racing nowadays.
