  1. Most of the riders on the domestic scene don't like Lawson never mind what the actual fans think
  2. Much depends on the team building limit of course If they plan for a GP no.1 and we factor in that Doyle may no longer be a GP rider come next year but they fit him in at no.5 as a fan favourite, then you will likely have to choose between Musielek and Brennan - there is not a chance that you will keep both and may come down to have the lower average to aid the rest of the team building. Perhaps Brennan may also feel he may be best on a bigger track such as Sheffield or Belle Vue depending on rider movement - so many things can happen between now and then but 100% believe that there will be 3 maximum of the current Witches side back next year
  3. The issue is ten-fold unfortunately... How many riders in the past 10 years have held down a regular World level position not having a ride in Poland etc. If we are to develop riders that have to put the UK first, then that development will stop as riders, young riders will have ambition to race in Poland, they will have ambition to race at GP level - it was the same many moons ago where you had Italians, Hungarians, Poles etc all with the ambition to race in the UK and compete at International level - the only thing that has changed is the destination now which is Poland Currently, the issue is that riders that have good grounding, good sponsorship, good equipment and above all, good ability and attitude are and will find their way to the top, you've seen in recent years with Robert Lambert, Dan Bewley etc. and I think although its an early assessment - Cooper Rushen could be next... What we are not doing is giving enough opportunity to develop riders of a standard fit for British Championship level, for every Robert Lambert that we hope to produce, we need 10x Chris Harris, Scott Nicholls etc. and for me there is just not the opportunity, and support for these riders to develop a domestic career Just plucking a few names out of the hat, JPB being one, Ashton Boughen being another, plus many more that come into the sport show promise, they might not make world level racing but seems that a domestic career is given up for many reasons.... I still believe a Grand Prix style British Championship format should be created inline with a sponsor and TV coverage where riders whom compete can earn a decent prize money over 7 or 8 championship rounds, and this should act as a potential achievable ambition to those riders who don't have that X Factor of making Poland and/or World Level I still marketing a domestic British Championship is easier, a one-off event in a town/city is easier to promote, more than likely as a "British" championship round has more meaning to get old fans and encourage new fans to attend - it is then down to that "host" club to maximise any further potential from on-site attendees I have gone a bit off-topic so I shall stop there...
  4. King 100% won't be there and unless his scores reduce massively he may even find it hard getting in somewhere else Mayfield will be ruthless with team building for 2027, very few from this year will be back Althought early days I can see something like 1. New Rider 8.00 2. New Foreigner 4.50 3. Brennan or Musielek 4. Rew/Ellis 5. Doyle 6. Rushen 7. RS
  5. Hope you enjoyed the meeting and overall happy with the riders and management Regarding King in 2027 it will be easy for Mayfield to move him on, but he's been a great servant to the witches and British Speedway
  6. Witches to win by about 12 points, looking forward to my first visit as down this way with work
  7. When you say I you mean we will still attend. The Premier league will unfortunately have to be watered down to encourage 2 clubs to come up The championship then needs to be watered down and some how incorporate some of the development league Not sure Mayfield like it, unless they are able to help the sport source a big TV deal I personally still feel an extended British Championship is most likely to attract new fans to a one-off big meeting than a local club has of attracting a new fan to be a regular
  8. You'd be oh so privileged to be me, or are you already me, so much accusation I am starting to question who I even am anymore, hard to see my true reflection through these tear filled forum eyes
  9. Feel free to find it odd, I very rarely post anything on these forums, often just read them as you will know, the decline on this forum has caught up with the decline of the sport itself. As for your expectations, fair enough we'll agree to disagree, perhaps Mayfield were trying to stay loyal, if you're genuinely looking to 2027 and riders are watching, would many be keen if they are making multiple changes in their debut season? Sticking with Brennan who will drop his average this year to nicely fit in next year and not at no.1 etc all you're doing is suffering for a season ie a transitional year before competing again You may even win the league cup against my beloved lions
