Yes, it’s a professional sport charging professional prices but acting amateurish. The only reason a meeting should ever be delayed is if there has been a bad accident close by and clearly only a small percentage of the normal/expected crowd has been able to arrive, and even the parade should start on time or be canned so that once racing can start, it’s starts promptly.

I agree Leicester are possibly the most reliable track regarding start time but even they have delays the start to a meeting I attended this season. I am never keen to rely on the last train which means I need to be back at the station for 22:10 and the local cabs/taxi/Uber struggle to find the speedway car park.
