    Please Go Middlo

Not sure what all the fuss is about, Team GB ride in one FIM event a year that lasts for a week and at most ride only three matches in that week. I would rather see more league clubs than GB medals any day.

    British GP 2013

If you want to see the value of a Cardiff ticket just compare it to a elite league meeting. I pay £17 to get into a elite league meeting for that you get 15 heats, maybe a few good races, a couple of world class riders, no atmosphere, keep a check on the weather to make sure the meeting is on, sometimes the track condition can be as bad as some the temporary tracks. the Cardiff experience is 100 times better than a elite league meeting. For me Cardiff is value for money every year.

    Not Converted

Yes the racing is pretty much the same but two major things are missing now from when I first went to speedway as a kid in the 70s, The smell and the roar of the bikes seemed to make things much more exciting. Now days you are lucky to get that smell and the bikes are so quite. I know they have to be but that is still something that does make a difference for me.Lets face if you went to see a rock band with the sound turned low it just would not be the same.

    Poor Repeat From Sky

yeah i can not argue with that, but it can not be hard to squeeze less than 40 minutes of racing into a 90 minute program.
  5. i could not get to sky+ the live gp last night, so i watched the sky repeat which always shows all the races minus any delays. not this time though the program started at about heat 11. just shows what they really think of speedway. :-(

    Rayleigh Rockets

i think the track was built by johnny guilfoyle for his son laurie guilfoyle to practise on.laurie raced second halfs at rayleigh and i think he may of made a few apperances for the rockets.

    Mike Letch

I was only 11 at the time but I can still remember the crash.I was standing on the back straight and mike crashed coming out of the second bend.I am sure I also went to a meeting at ryehouse that was held to raise money for mike.

    Speedway's Greatest Scandal

i know years ago some promoters would ask riders to split the points money to get past heat 6 when the conditions were too bad to race in.

    Rayleigh Rockets

don't spend too much time looking at Sainsbury's.the stadium was up where comets is.believe it or not I have still not got over the closure of Rayleigh I guess I never will.I loved the place.

    Speedways Motocrossers

Sad news indeed. Don Smith was a brilliant Trials rider (Twice European Trials Champion) and all-rounder. I would loved to have seen the Greeves 2-Stroke engined Speedway machine he was developing some years ago. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i think don designed the folding footrest for speedway

    penny farthing

does anyone remember a meeting at eastboure in the early 70's when they had penny farthing races in the interval and brain foote fell off one and injured his collar bone. i think the meeting was the good old four team tournments between rayleigh, eastboure, canterbury and romford.
