  1. Have seen on a couple of forums that the Redcar round of the U15 Championship is on Saturday 16th September following the Conference Shield meeting between Cleveland 'Bays' & Sittingbourne 'Crusaders'. Can anyone confirm the accuracy of this please?
  2. Thanks for that. An early start but with that goes an earlier finish! hopefully
  3. Thanks for that, really useful, isn't Coventry Monday 28th though?
  4. Are there any more details of the line up for this worthy meeting please?

    Not A Music Magazine

Although a 'punk' in my early years, I have to agree Andy M that the music has not dated well, and was in many cases no more than 'Pub' rock. It certainly was more about expression and quickly became a cultural movement. However it did rid us of ELP, Yes and the likes, but more importantly showed the youth of the time that being in a band was not elitist, but something anyone could do if they chose. Of course many of the more noted bands of the movement, The Jam and The Clash for example, were never really 'punk' bands in the true sense and their music is imo a testament to the fact that there was some great music coming out of that era.
  6. Excellent Idea Semion. Much better use of £17 imo
  7. Good idea, but any chance you can film from the straights rather than the first/second bend. Meetings filmed from the bends never seem as good to watch, just my opinion Mike
  8. After his performance last night at Scunthorpe for the Mildenhall Academy, Im sure Ben Hopwood will be pleased to see one of the U15 rounds is being held there

Whats the nearest airport to Terenzano?
  10. Any news on the link. Tried to buy a copy wednesday at Lynn but no sign of it!
  11. Meowww, look forward to seeing you use them someday
  12. Was gonna ask the same, definately saw filming taking place up in the stand and on the first bend
  13. Yes they did SimonB, and the meeting did drag on a bit, although there were some excellent races, with both Danny and Jason doing themselves credit. Overall a good night, although James Brundle will be a little dissapointed with his score. Danny was very lucky though to get a second chance in the final, clearing clipping Boxall at the first bend after missing the gate. But you need a little luck in these events and Kingy certainly got it Ben Wilson was certainly a deseving winner imo and Bridger great entertainment missing the gate most races the executing some well timed passes, he does look the business. Some of the CL riders aquited themselves well Dennis, Auty .... Crowd wasn't great, but then a BRITISH U21 Final would hardly be much interest to Kings Whinge supporters would it Good to see young Ben Hopwood get a ride, if he hadn't fell in his race he'd have beaten Kennett , full credit to him though for jumping up and getting on with the race Have to agree with all thats been said about Kennett, a move away to a bigger track seems to be a must if he's to progress much further, didn't seem to want to leave the white line much again. Hey Bryn it would have been more than feet hurting if 'Madam' had caught up with you

    Issue 14

Like the majority on here I really enjoy the magazine and EX-Retro for that matter (how good was sunday!). However I would like to see you keep away from to many excerts from recently published books.
  15. Its dry in Mildenhall too Steve and has been since 1pm, just seems the cloud is sitting over The Norfolk Arena
  16. Any further weather news, nice and bright and dry!! some 30 miles away

    65 - 13

Saw Mildenhall beat Berwick 64 - 14 if memory serves. The only rider beaten was Rob Henry i think.

    Km Videos?

If I am correct the company that used to film meetings at Mildenhall were KM videos. I believe they started in 1982/83 season. Does anyone know what happened to them and if possible and email or contact address please.

    New Speedway Magazine?

Fully agree, the Defunct Speedway Magazine is a good idea, as was the Speedway Programme Guide which sadly stopped being updated very quickly. The technical quality does not match Backtrack or VSM as you say, but I can put up with that, its the regular changing of direction and delays in getting the magazines out which give me the problem. I am sure his Speedway History magazine is one I subscribed to over two years ago, but had to ask for my money back as nothing ever materilaised. I wish him well too as there is not enough speedway literature about for the Speedway fan imo, and I admire his endeavours, but won't hold my breath on this one. If he had a website set up it might help!

Who Would You Like To See An Article On?

As it is Mildenhall's 30th Anniversary how about Bob Coles. I hear he now resides in Spain, so you could get a decent trip out of it as well Tony Up the Hammers Phil
