    Nssc Christmas 50/50 Quiz

Just heard that Leicester will be represented by David Hemsley and his team. Great to have their support. By the way do not be put off if you do not have a team. You can either join in as an individual or make up a team on the night. There were 25 teams last year so there will be plenty of familiar speedway faces.

    Nssc Christmas 50/50 Quiz

There's been plenty of support from within the speedway world. Mick Horton is bringing a Coventry team and Rory Schlein & Adam Roynon complete another formidable outfit. The team to beat appears to be "The Lynch Mob" a fine quartet comprising of Tony Steele, Jim Lawrence and Jim & Sarah Lynch. However the "King of Quizzes" Phil Morris is coming......so you'd better get your thinking caps on!

    Coventry Bees 2014

So does that mean that Gary Havelock remains as team manager? How underwhelming....................

    Tai Woffinden

It would be a priceless boost for the sport if Tai was one of the nominations for BBC Sports Personality of the Year. Apparently they are announced on November 26th. Their Twitter address is @BBCSPOTY. I'm sure there must be other ways of getting in touch. Let's keep his name in their minds.

    2014 Gp Calendar

Shame really. I fancied another wet weekend in Berlin or a weekend by the sea(ish) in Gdansk.

Have the SWC run-off and final been confirmed for Bydgoszcz? Looks like it on page 1 but can't see it anywhere else. Thanks.
  7. No surprise that the meetings are off but what a shame. I was particularly looking forward to seeing how these top riders got on at Leicester. Is there any chance of a re-staging?

    Chris Harris Cardiff Wild Card

The only reason I can think of (and its not a good one!) is that as SKY do not show the GP's they will not have to go on about riders qualifying during the British Final. Typically shambolic effort from those concerned. To paraphrase a football song, "You had one good idea and you cocked it up"!
  9. Really enjoyed the meeting tonight, nice to watch it without the angst of a Bees meeting. A few very good races and lots of effort throughout. Well done to Mick, Laurence, Blayne and all the team. Hope the crowd numbers remain healthy without the many Heathen fans.
  10. Care to share the info' ?
  11. Done. Even had a little rant about riders turning straight back to the pits after winning a race. Acknowledge/include the fans, particularly kids, it costs nothing.

Darcy Showing What A Pro He Is Again

It's a good job that speedway is under the radar regarding media coverage. Imagine this on the back page of the Sun! GO ON MY SON British Team manager condones riding an unlicensed and unregistered motorbike on public roads while under the influence of alcohol and drugs and fleeing from the police. Because it's what all kids do !!!!! The BSPA need to take a very serious look at this.

    Leicester Lions 2013

David Hemsley is the guest of Nuneaton Speedway Supporters Club tomorrow night (Tuesday). For a nominal entrance fee you can come along and ask him any questions you like. Politely of course. http://www.nuneatonspeedwaysupportersclub.co.uk/

    Leicester Lions 2013

Why do you want a Lions select, what's the point? Surely most Leicester fans are looking forward to seeing THEIR riders lining up at the tapes alongside Scott Nicholls etc. And why are you so concerned with the football? Those few (maybe even a few hundred) of LCFC fans will have to make a choice but I would have thought that any Cov fans have time to do both. Either way I'm sure there will be a very large crowd and the vast majority will enjoy the event irrespective of the score and what team they support.

    Leicester Lions 2013

Really don't understand the negativity by some people on here. It's only a friendly, the result doesn't matter. If I was a Leicester fan I'd much rather see my team pitched against a full Elite league side rather than an artificially strengthened Leicester and/or weakened Coventry. What's the point in that? Of course Coventry should win but so what. No doubt some of the Leicester riders will get a scalp or too and some of Coventry's Poles may struggle with the tight bends, but I'm really looking forward to seeing top quality riders like Scotty and KK racing there. I hope the weather behaves itself, there is a big crowd and we all enjoy it for what it is.
  16. Shame the riders had to cope with a very heavy track, but the highlight for me was Bartosz Zmarzlik. Very fast and skilful in difficult conditions, definitely one to watch out for. The conditions and falls dictated the pace of the meeting but the start Marshall was so fussy, he wasn't happy until he moved every rider 6 inches. Would have been interesting to see these guys on a normal track, but at least we had a meeting of some sort.
  17. "Your tickets will be dispatched closer to the date of the event." How close do they want to be??
  18. Thank you for the information pawel115. There are plenty of possibilities there, enough to kep me going for a few years!
  19. Just back from a few days in Gdansk. Great place, something there for everyone, thoroughly recommend it to anybody. Speedway just a 10 min walk from the city, £6 for me, £5 for my wife (sex discrimination!) £1 programme. Great view, atmosphere and racing. If you are considering going to Poland to see a league match, do it, much more fun than a GP and much much cheaper. We need to try other tracks now, so far we've been to Wroclaw, Leszno and Gdansk. Any recommendations based on sight seeing and speedway?
  20. We are planning another "speedway" week in Sweden for next year. Does anybody know when the fixtures will be announced?

    Swedish 2011 Season

Would somebody out there be kind enough to confirm that Valsarna v's Dackarna(9/8) and Vastervik v's Hammarby(16/8) would both start at 7pm Swedish time. We are lucky enough to be going to Sweden for two weeks and plan on taking in these two meetings as well as the GP.
  22. For those who may be interested, Glamorgan host Surrey in a Twenty 20 match at the Swalec stadium, just a walk through the (Bute?) park from the Millennium Stadium, on the Friday night before the GP. We went last year, not particularly cricket fans, but enjoyed the match and the atmosphere and still plenty of time for drinks afterwards back in the city. I'm sure I won't have done this correctly (sorry) but here's a link to ticket details; http://www.glamorgancricket.com/detail-item.php?int_id=106&str_page_name=6
  23. According to the Bees website on the 2nd March... ..."They will be taking a strong team north of the border, with only No.1 rider Chris Harris missing due to a commitment in Poland." This refers to the Glasgow meeting this Sunday 21st March. So will Chris be there?
  24. Is anybody interested in this meeting? Even the BSPA site is not showing an advert as it did for the PLRC for about a week before the meeting.
  25. Fully agree with the general comments of an enjoyable meeting. The GP riders showed their class. Ricky Wells looks promising, improved with every race. I thought the last race of the Wolves v's Cradley was a bit odd. Sam and PK had a conversation on track before the race and I was sure they'd let Greg and Billy get a last 5-1 to tie up the meeting but in the end it was a bit of a let down as Billy was blocked out and came last. Must say well done to Smoli who put in a good competitive showing despite being on borrowed machinery (Tobi Kroners bike and mechanic).
