  1. If you live within striking distance of Brandon Stadium here’s a date for your diaries. 28th July 8pm. Carl Stonehewer, Ricky Ashworth and Paul Ackroyd will be at the NSSC for a special Ben’ Fund evening. Ricky last came to the NSSC in 2018. He joined Garry Stead and Adam Roynon on that occasion. Everyone who was there that night will remember what an emotional and enjoyable evening it was. Everyone is welcome to attend.. All money raised will go to the Ben’ Fund. Only £4 entry, raffle and donations. All details here; https://www.nuneatonspeedwaysupportersclub.co.uk
  2. By the way I think the SM-Vecken is a great idea (which the Swedish speedway final is part of). As far as I understand it is like a small Olympics with a different host city each year. Thirty sports are represented and have their respective national championships in one week which is all showcased on the free to air national tv.
  3. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Karlstad for the Swedish Final. Smart stadium, great crowd and some good racing. Only about £12.50 for 22 heats! Apart from the better known riders, Casper Henriksson impressed me with his never say die attitude. It made up for last year’s rain-offs for the Final and Nyköping later the same week! The weather looks set fair for tomorrow’s Örnarna v Solkatterna so we are looking forward to a new track which will take us up to 16 Swedish tracks.
  4. If you enjoy the BSN coverage you may be interested in meeting the team at the NSSC. Ian Brannan, Ben Duffill, Martin Hunter and Greg Blair (and maybe more) will be at the Brandon Club on Tuesday 30th June at 8pm. The BSN team visited last year. It was a really interesting evening with plenty of laughs and inside stories. Everyone is welcome to attend with an entry of £4 with all proceeds for GB Youth Speedway. Come and join us for an evening of speedway chatter and help young British riders. The Brandon Club (just down the road from the stadium) offers some good beers, hot drinks and light snacks. Parking at the rear of the building and plenty of on street parking. Address. Main Street, Brandon, Coventry, CV8 3HW
  5. Well I was really impressed. A great crowd, all the facilities you need and the track looks a good shape and size with plenty of room on the banked bends. The track was a bit slick tonight and gate 4 was an advantage but I’m sure they’ll improve the track preparation as the season progresses. Great to see the riders going full tilt with no concerns and also good to see the crowd react so well to any Foxes heat wins. Looks like plenty of home support and not just folk there for the event which augurs well.
  6. Above all let’s hope it’s a successful, exciting and safe meeting. And …. Shoe Army! Shoe Army! Shoe Army!
  7. Northampton Foxes co-promoter Paul Hunsdon was the guest speaker at the NSSC on Tuesday evening. With news breaking just before the meeting that the venue had passed the SCB Inspection the atmosphere was really positive. Paul said; Tickets can be purchased on-line or on entry to the track by card or cash. Large free car park. OK to take camping chairs etc. Sensible entry checks. No bottles but OK with food and soft drinks, tea etc. Large bar, food outlets and seating for 750 otherwise large grass banks.
  8. Yes it was confirmed last night at the NSSC. 310mtrs. Apparently the 396mtrs was an original measurement by the owners around the perimeter of the track, not the inner kerb/white line.

  12. Surely ‘Foxes’ is heavily associated with Leicester and Leicestershire???
  13. It’s been a very busy start to 2026 at the NSSC! So far Chris Harris, Jason Edwards, Dan Gilkes, Peter Facenna, Rob Lyon and Drew Kemp have all given up their time to help the GB Young Lions. The next event promises to be a very interesting and special night as Chris Durno interviews Peter Adams on Wednesday 8th April. Everyone is welcome at the Brandon Club with entry only £4. Tapes up at 8pm. If you live within striking distance of the Brandon Stadium why not come along for an evening of speedway chatter and help support British Youth speedway. 14. Rob Lyon confirmed at the NSSC last week that there would not be a Media Day this year.
  15. Apologies if this has been mentioned before but the University of Northampton have a large media centre. They have been Northampton Town’s sponsor for many years and work closely with the Club so there must be a possibility of a relationship there.

  17. The NSSC are very pleased to announce a very special extra meeting on 3rd March when the Glasgow Tigers Director, Peter Facenna, will be the guest. Should be very interesting to hear first hand about all the improvements and future plans for Glasgow Tigers and Allied Vehicles investment and support for British Speedway including recently revealed backing of the GB Young Lions. Everyone welcome at all NSSC events.
  18. If you want to do your bit to help save and ultimately restore Brandon Stadium then; Send an email to; info@savecoventryspeedway.com Write; I support Policy W1B to restore Brandon Stadium. (You can add further text but it is not necessary) Then add your name & full address. Job done ✔️😊 The Campaign Group will collate all replies and submit them to the Planning Inspector via Rugby Borough Council at the end of February.
  19. With thanks to your help we got our 4 tickets on the back straight OK. Looking at the cheapest (350PLN) tickets the back straight has all but sold out but bends 3&4 are almost all available and on bends 1&2 only the first few rows are available. About £72 is expensive, especially for Poland but I suppose compared to even League One football it’s not too bad for us. The £72 covers entry to the SGP2 on the Friday night too. Anyway it was either pay £72 or just have a weekend in Łòdź.
  20. Thank you for your helpful reply. However I can’t see anything on their website about registering. Only appears to be information on buying season tickets and the season opening individual meeting. I’d be grateful if you could point me in the right direction.
  21. While we all wait for the speedway fixtures to be announced the NSSC are pleased to announce the following ‘fixtures’ 😉 3rd Feb. Jason Edwards & Dan Gilkes. 10th Feb. David Howe. 10th March. Rob Lyon. Everyone is welcome at these events. Entry only £4 with all proceeds for GB Youth Speedway. Venue; The Brandon Club ( Just down the hill from the stadium) Address; Brandon Club, Main Street, Brandon, Coventry, CV8 3HW. ‘Tapes Up’ at 8pm. All details here; https://www.nuneatonspeedwaysupportersclub.co.uk
  22. Regarding tickets for the Łódź SGP I’ve seen a post on X/Twitter. Thanks to Google Translate it says … Phase 1 for Pass Holders from 28th Jan to 31st Jan. Phase 2 Open Sales from 1st February. Presumably Pass Holders are Season ticket holders? Does anyone have any idea how easy/difficult it will be to get tickets? Flights and hotel booked 😬
  23. From the NSSC website …… Pippa is a FIM Commission member for Women and is also the first Ambassador for Women in Motorcycle Racing at the ACU, a role specifically created for her. Pippa has spent over twenty years involved with motorcycle sports, initially through her relationship with Irish Superbike and Moto GP racer, Eugene Laverty, who is now her husband. Pippa has recently fallen in love with our sport and is gutted that she hasn't been involved before now. One of her key passions and focus is to help raise the profile of women's speedway on the international stage, and in the last three years she's had some notable success. Her role within the ACU though has expanded beyond this now, so for example, Pippa is also responsible for their social media output as well. British Speedway also benefits as she has applied her skill set to help with their media events, hospitality and sponsorship. Pippa certainly knows her way round the ACU rule book and regulations and took the time to attain a clerk of the course licence. She understands and respects that the governing body is made up of volunteers who are passionate about making improvements within the sport, rather than just police it As is the case with many enterprising women striving to make a positive change within male dominated motorcycle sports, Pippa has skilfully learned how to open doors in order to achieve her goals and has responded to any barriers positively as a challenge.
  24. Pippa Laverty is the next guest at the NSSC on 28th October. Pippa sits on the FIM Women’s Commission and is the ACU’s Ambassador for Women. Her role is to promote and support women within management and on the track and is particularly involved with the FIM Women’s Speedway Academy. To find out more about Pippa, follow this link: https://www.shiftthegears.net/post/pippa-laverty-the-powerhouse-behind-women-in-motorcycle-racing (With kind permission of ‘Shift The Gears’) Everyone is welcome with entry only £4 and all proceeds for GB Youth Speedway. The venue is the Brandon Club (near the stadium) and starts at 8pm. Address; Brandon Club, Main Street, Brandon, Coventry, CV8 3HW.
