    Seemond Stephens Testimonial

I've just received this press release which states that plans for Seemond's Benefit meeting have been put on hold for 12 months. "Plans to launch the Plymouth season with a meeting for Devils skipper Seemond Stephens have been put on hold. It had been intended to stage an attractive meeting at the St Boniface Arena on Easter Saturday with a number of Elite League riders expressing their willingness to turn out for the popular Cornishman. It seems, however, that the necessary permission from the sport’s ruling authorities has not been forthcoming. Stephens is opting not to comment on the situation, but the latest situation is that plans for the meeting have been shelved pending an application for Stephens to stage a meeting sometime in 2011." Apologies for this turn of events. Thanks to all those individuals and companies who expressed their support for Seemond and this meeting. Best regards, Gary Spiller Plymouth Speedway.

    Seemond Stephens Testimonial

A Facebook group has just been set up to promote Seemond's Benefit Meeting on Saturday 3rd April. Please bear with us as the initial batch of news is added to the site. In the mean time here's the link to the site ..... (hope the admin don't mind me advertising this) http://www.facebook.com/group.php?v=app_23...id=268840024689 The latest news is that The Plymouth Speedway Supporters Club (PSSC) will proudly host the Launch Evening for Seemond's Benefit Meeting at the Novotel, Plymouth on Friday 12th February. As well as giving the fans and press an opportunity to hear the latest developments regarding this highly anticipated meeting there will be a question and answer session with Seemond and Mark Simmonds, the Devil's very own resident 'comedy duo' !! All children attending this evening will be given a free raffle ticket to be entered into a draw with three lucky winners being given the opportunity to be introduced to all the riders, on the startline, prior to the commencement of proceedings on Easter Saturday! The line-up of the meeting. entitled 'The Evel Has Landed', is taking shape as we speak. Once all riders we anticipate to be riding and their respective promoters having been contacted we will issue confirmation of the meeting's participants. What Happened To

Jason Garrity has just returned from injury and has recently made his debut for Buxton in the meeting at Mildenhall. Jack Hirst began the season with Scunthorpe, making one appearance at King's Lynn - not sure what he's up to at the present.
  9. Main Man if the letter of the law is strictly applied then surely you would only be able to cover one of the number 2 rides with the reserves? Cant' believe you're running out of antipodeans in South Wales as well!!! lol lol
  10. Fair question Parsloes ... surely worth a team slot on an average of about 6. Did I read somewhere that he's concentrating on his grass-track racing this season ?

    Stoke Sunday July 20

Delighted to report that Devils mascot Nathan Stoneman won the 250cc section of the GB U15 today at Stoke. Nathan dropped just one point, to highly rated Marc Owen, in his 4 qualifying heats to qualify directly for the final. Nathan took the chequered flag to claim victory ahead of third placed Lloyd Barrett and second placed Conor Dwyer. Unfortunately Marc Owen, the Sittingbourne mascot. suffered untimely engine problems that caused his retirement from the final. I'm told the quality of the day's racing was good and in front of a healthy crowd. Well done to all at Stoke for their last minute intervention to aid the youngsters ! B) Please note amended positions of Lloyd and Conor - apologies for my earlier error.

Have a look at an atlas before making inaccurate comments !!!!!! Please spare me this !!!!! Devon has the M5 which ends at Exeter !!! Wiltshire has that "backwater" known as the M4 linking South Wales and London !! The 43 miles of the A38 between Exeter and Plymouth are dual carraigeway throughout .... no travel difficulty there !! Try living in West Cornwall ..... 100 miles from the start of the M5 !!!
