    Glasgow 2020

Hmm me thinks you may not be being entirely (never mind totally) honest John! Thanks for your concern anyway, suggest you redirect your obvious frustration with Glasgow in a more positive way. Why not contact your own club owner and offer to do something helpful in 2019, I'm certain they could do with your contribution?

    Glasgow 2019 Onwards

Is it truly so hard to believe that so many 2018 Comets wouldn't want to be 2019 Comets?
  3. Ah, ok, so you hadn't actually done any of that and were just making sweeping assumptions for the purpose of trying to make yourself look remotely smart, or perhaps humorous? Thanks for confirming what I (and others) already knew Mr Attention Seeker PS - your attitude around your own club's future also says a lot about you and your lack of thought before pressing a few keys to empty your mind here! Good luck to the Comets
  4. Interesting, ok you've caught my attention for the first time ever, so tell us what you know of the parent company financial structure & strategy, and speedway business payment structure, at Glasgow Speedway. I suggest you should be far more interested and concerned to the equivalent answers closer to home.

    Redcar V Glasgow Thursday

Congratulations to Redcar, they pulled themselves together and showed true battling spirit when Glasgow, not for the first time in recent weeks, couldn't. Whilst I wouldn't consider us as favourites for any silverware (not sure I personally ever did) right now, neither would I rule us out of contention BUT we do, and very quickly, need to rediscover some of the early season form which gave us that extra cutting edge and resilience particularly away from home. Season is far from over.

Super-Vatch, this caped crusader would come to the rescue of any club suffering a similar heavily manipulated miscarriage of justice as was being tried on by the Bears camp last time around. As hard as it may be for you to accept, justice was served, and your mob got exactly what they deserved. Here's to a fairer spirited and hard fought away win tonight
  7. At least we can actually see our tractors whizzing around (and around!) our circuit, not just the drivers heads!

Very desperate and poor. Only underhand tactics here were those of your own promotion, don't believe everything they've told you and ask them what they haven't!

    Points Awarded !

Rob, in the normal course of events I'd absolutely agree with you, however the significant difference here is that due to Redcar 's operational curfew there was no mathematical prospect of the home side recovering the scoreline. In the interests of the sport, and in this specific case Glasgow's, are we really suggesting that a team's superiority over the opening 9 heats (should have been 10) should then have been nullified by the tactical gamesmanship of the home camp - in this case the fence was repaired a full 30 mins before curfew as indicated by the referee sounding the 2 minute warning for re-run of heat 10, no concern was raised over the fallen riders (both of whom had been assessed before walking unaided back to the pits and neither of whom were displaying any concerning symptoms or seeking medical attention afterwards) - who was to gain anything by then resorting to questionable tactics to run down the final 30 minutes? Am NOT having a go at you, just using your post (lucky you!) to make my contribution here. The more people want to know EXACTLY what happened and why, the less they are likely to hear it. Let's give credit where it is due, the SCB will have been presented with the facts, and that's what they've used to arrive at their - correct in my view - decision. It remains my belief that the Redcar promotion are being entirely disingenuous, for their own face saving reasons, with their own supporters. Let's see if he attempts to do that this weekend!

You were there then? Surprised when your own side were so self confident of cup success

    Glasgow 2017

Don't disagree that additional tiering on the back straight would make viewing from that area much better, but I'd hope you'd accept that it (the back straight area) STILL provides much, much better viewing than is available at most other tracks! Lest we forget the non-proximate and sub circuit viewing at other venues

    Workington 2017

Me thinks Jenga has had much too much Xmas spirit already - also suspect that the Comics are in for another season of spectacular under achievement in 2017! For Jenga-boyz sake, I hope I'm wrong or we'll never hear the end of it

    Berwick 2017 50th Year

It is superb value, but only if the Bandit's manage to qualify for those additional meetings otherwise it was just a nice idea!
  14. Managing to keep it close at Somerset seems a daunting prospect for any side this season but I do think it'll be the key to getting through this tie, and I do think Glasgow have the riders to achieve it. Somerset look to be the side with their back to the wall (Allan being sidelined and a NL reserve), but that could make them all the more 'dangerous' in the first leg at least. I wouldn't be panicking if Tigers have to make up 12 points or so come Sunday, hopefully the actual challenge will be even less though!
  15. A highly impressive 'gubbing' handed out by the Stripes today. Both sides will meet again in the LC semi in a month's time, can Glasgow be as dominant again? Can Worky be so poor again? Now we're fast approaching the business end of the season, with the league fixtures beginning to dwindle and clubs look to secure a play-off spot, it's all very much about building, and delivering, winning form at the right time to reach finals and win trophies - on today's showing it certainly looked like Glasgow were full of confidence and fight which will be required in bucket loads over the coming weeks. Tough weekend coming up with 3 in 3 days which will severely test that winning attitude and determination.
