pugwash 3,208 Posted April 27, 2005 It could well be Martin Fry. Remember him from ABC ? I was talking to John Poss about it last year at Bydgoszcz and he said that it would possibly be Fry + maybe Tony Hadley. Tried to persuade him to book The Specials who are now gigging again but don't think that he is in to them.

Gemini 4,894 Posted April 28, 2005 Might not please some people but I like it. There is another ABBA tribute band called Smackee who we go to see in Leicester every year. http://www.smackee.com/ They also do a show featuring songs from musicals but both of their shows are brilliant. Must admit I've never seen Bjorn Again so I'm looking forward to it. Everyone likes ABBA don't they?
SCB 0 Posted April 29, 2005 Everyone likes ABBA don't they? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Most people do, I guess this is probabl the best band they could get, they seem to be liked by people of all ages, there's not many others who can claim that.
Steve Shovlar 10,439 Posted April 29, 2005 Can't stand Abba. They were the epitemy of bad taste when they were around. The Nolans of the 70's and 80's to most people with decent musical taste. Strangely they came into vogue well after their demise, when suddenly their pop music became for some reason fashionable. As a jazz funker from the 70s/80s, I dislike them with a passion. Strangely they came into vogue well after their demise, when suddenly their pop music became for some reason fashionable. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Strange but i thought the Nolans were in the charts in the late 70's and early 80's !. And as for coming into vogue after their demise, i suppose they were not popular during the 8 years in which they reached number 1 some 8 or 9 times. Jazz funk !!! don't make me laugh
Guest Shale Eater Posted April 30, 2005 (edited) kasabian or muse please ...or tony christie <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah another Muse fan . They'll certainly get the crowd going, but if it's from that genre then it will be a 'home' vote and performing will be The Manics, The Stereophonics or Feeder who are all just as good.
