I was at his "Farewell to Scotland" meeting at Powderhall around the same time. It was a foul night weather-wise, but a huge crowd, good racing and the usual Cowboy antics on-track from John Cook made for a fantastic night. From memory, PC won the meeting.

Seems from Backtrack he also wants to have a last 4 laps around the County Ground when we close.

 

Now THAT will bring a lump to the throat if its possible-and I know Rob Doran has his famous chequared leathers and if he could squeeze into them-well---What a way to end the era of Exeter Speedway at The County Ground.Nothing could be more fitting unless Scott Autrey turns up as well for a match race.

 

Really hope the powers that be are working on such an occasion for Oct 31st

I really do hope they manage to get a proper farewell to the Country Ground meeting arranged for the end of the season.

 

If they could get back a few of the Exeter stars of the past to have a couple of laps and then get in some of the Exeter specialists of today for the main meeting, it could be an absolutly great meeting and I'll be doing all I can to attend.

Ivan is coming over again in August, and doubt very very much he'll be here in October as he will be sorting his Longtrack GP in NZ.

 

if you want something sorted, arrange it for August

Only thing I would have any power of organising would be to say "Steve Hone-You fancy coming down to the track in August or Oct 31st? and bring your bird with you"

To me August bank holiday would be the ideal time-make a full day of it -from the men in black etc through all the years and a massive meeting in the evening with Sky there-End of an Era meeting type thing.Too many riders abroad I guess over the weekend-but that would be mine and many Exeter fans ideal scenario.

 

Guess I can dream.

I agree that there needs to be a tribute to The County Ground when the sad day arrives that the last meeting is staged there.

 

However, it would be far better to be arranging something really special for the grand opening of a new home for The Falcons - any news on that venture anyone?
