For me, its the perfect track, perfect venue, great racing, but wrong outcome, but im sure that would have been put right this year Mike.
Najjer 2,890 Posted February 18, 2006 good point they will more than likley try and switch the british GP soon to <{POST_SNAPBACK}> no cardiff has been guarenteed to about 2012 i think but they will probably add in another round at reading and rename it something
Rico 210 Posted February 18, 2006 I know this aint the right place for this but here goes: <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you know it's not the right place, why do it ? There is a big old section for SGP and SWC. good point they will more than likley try and switch the british GP soon to <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am sure once Reading are in their spanking new stadium it will be a much more suitable venue for hosting events like the SWC. I don't for one minute think that Smallmead in it's current state is fit for the holding of such a presigious event, but I am sure it will get a good crowd in and make for good tv. As for switching the British GP, don't make me laugh. Rico

For me, its the perfect track, perfect venue, great racing, but wrong outcome, but im sure that would have been put right this year That's the opinion of a Poole fan though and not everyone would agree. Astra1 for example posts (in the right section!) "At least you will be able to see the racing at Reading. when i went to Poole for the WTC i couldn`t see a thing. we were stood on the 1st bend and by the time the stadium had filled up i was swamped by people pushing to get to the front and i had to make do with catching a glimpse of the riders helmet covers as they went past." Canadian Star 6 Posted February 18, 2006 Because the People who run the World Cup run Reading WRONG The people that run Reading are now running British Speedway, get used to it people. BSPA are spineless and incompetent. British Speedway is run by a Cartel combination of Terry Russell and John Posslewaite. They have taken control in a bloodless coup, it is time something was done, but no one is in a position to do anything because its all wrapped up before the meetings start. Rico 210 Posted February 18, 2006 You must give me details of your optician Canadian Star. Seems like you can see quite a distance. The fact you have left Matt Ford out of the equation is laughable Rico

For me, its the perfect track, perfect venue, great racing, but wrong outcome, but im sure that would have been put right this year Mike. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> While I had a great time at Poole in '04 (mainly because I was in the temp. stand right in the middle of bends 3 & 4 and could see everything), it's each to their own. I personally don't see why one particular track should get it every time, it's not a bad idea to move it around. Might get some tracks' promotions into gear, with advertising and how to actually entertain and all the rest of it.
Steve Shovlar 10,439 Posted February 19, 2006 So everyone (except me I can't make the 22nd July) will be at Reading on the Saturday, then head down to Poole on the Sunday for the TRick farewell to speedway meeting. What a week of speedway! (for some!)
Subedei 0 Posted February 19, 2006 (edited) I personally don't see why one particular track should get it every time, it's not a bad idea to move it around. Although it has likely found a permanent home at Reading (when staged in the UK) now that the discredited BSI own Reading and the FIM.
