According to Shane Childs, Wato's best mate for anybody who doesn't know, Craig still wants (wanted) to ride in this meeting even though he no longer rides for the Wasps. Shane posted that the first Craig knew that he wouldn't be riding in the meeting was on the day, last Thursday, that the Newport promoter announced the team's new number 1 rider. Craig's name appeared in the lineup on the official website up until the Wednesday and disappeared on Thursday morning. Again, according to Shane, Craig did not withdraw-he was excluded by the promoter.

Any chance we could "celebrate" by actually having some dirt on the track? It was an absolute disgrace again today, and what little surface there was just blew all over the few hardy souls left on the bends. The first and second bend was more akin to road racing after about four heats. I no longer introduce newcomers to the sport because I would be ridiculed for spending good money being subjected to such discomfort.

We could celebrate the fact that David Howe seems to have become an honorary Wasp for the day ......

.........could he not arrange for his elite average to drop to four and a half so we could sign him as our number 1?

I'm sure I was told its an individual. Anders, Emil and Bjorn are all riding. The only one I'm sure that's not riding is Ben Howe.

 

Should be a really good afternoon/evening over at Newport to see all the past riders there. I've been looking forward to this since it was announced.
