Hackett 220 Posted October 11, 2008 Farce !!!!!! Would this be due to SGP tickets sales ?!?!!?? Perhaps they not sell enough to make it the SGP Series extravaganza ?!!!!!!! Is Nicki Pedersen fit ?? The speedway Grand Prix not look good if Pedersen not able to ride in the finale of the SGP series. If the track not great why not sort the track out and run the meeting tomorrow. Especially as riders and more importantly fans are already there ?!!?!??! Seems that IMG have been very quick to organise a re-scheduled meeting at Bydgoszcz - did they know in advance ?!?!? Plus could the likes of Adams and Andersen sue IMG as a decent result for Gollob would elevate him to 3rd .... and on a home track surely that likely

Debbi 111 Posted October 11, 2008 (edited) Just to add more insult to injury we have been informed that fans on buses from Denmark were stopped at the border and informed of the situation! On the plus side there are allegedly around 2000 v angry poles (fans) at the stadium going mental!!!!! I have just e-mailed IMG to make my feelings known and will wait for a response (could be a ruddy long time!). Edited October 11, 2008 by Debbi
MARK246 243 Posted October 11, 2008 Polish play off final tomorrow mate. Which in fairness to the most important speedway nation, is more important than a second rate meeting, on a temporary track that decides a championship which is already over.
Gemini 4,894 Posted October 11, 2008 Have just had a text from Germany. Shale was brought from Denmark on a Barge to Germany and was caught in the rain. The track was laid with the wet shale but would or could not dry out. So no cover on the barge then? Surely there is always the possibility of rain. The track was being laid 4 days ago on October 7th so what's happened to the famous "track drier outer" belonging to Colin Meredith? Surely this would have been an ideal time to make use of it. srbramble 0 Posted October 11, 2008 Just about the most rediculous tale ever in our sport, taking speedway to an all time low.
Hackett 220 Posted October 11, 2008 So they could not do exactly the same trick that they did in Ekilstuna a few years back was it ... ?!?!? Or why not hire heaters or lamps for the track to take the moisture out ..... either way farcical !!! Someone has to answer to this !!!!

Silver Cheetah Snr 113 Posted October 11, 2008 (edited) Just been looking at the telly book and there was no rerun of the grand prix scheduled to be shown. I wonder why. Edited October 11, 2008 by Silver Cheetah Snr
scottymelloty 0 Posted October 11, 2008 as ive already said it cant be because of poor ticket sales,, they had sold over 10,000 5 weeks ago so surely would d have been heading towards 20,000 on the day which was the same as last year and the sames as the ZKS Polonia Stadium, Bydgoszcz maximum capacity plus they are refunding money AND giving people a free ticket to one of next years so financially they wouldnt be any better off calling it off thro low ticket sales even if they never sold another ticket after the 10,000 they sold 5 weeks ago for me it can be only for two reasons,, the reason they have given which is basically a total c0ck up on their part of the more cynical part of me that Nicki wasnt fit as there had been rumours he wasnt going to take part and had to make a rebuttal of that on the official GP weboster saying he was going to be there so its starnge those rumours surfaced then this happened whatever happened it's a total joke
