Have they decided not to use Holta then? Last I saw, they had named 6 riders (see below). Was hoping to see how Holta fared at the EOES

SIX FOR POLAND

Poland boss Marek Cieslak has named a squad of six riders for event two of Speedway World Cup week.

The Poles face Great Britain, Australia and Slovenia at Peterborough's East of England Showground on Monday, July 13.

Only five of the six will ride, with Cieslak choosing a trio of GP riders in his party for the trip to the UK, Tomasz Gollob, Rune Holta and Sebastian Ulamek.

The other three are ex-GP stars Jarek Hampel, Piotr Protasiewicz and the in-form Adrian Miedzinski.

That is what i saw on the net.But now Ulamek has been taken to hospital in Sweden. Not sure if that is anything serious, but could change things if.....

Tricky one. Nicholls omitted is no surprise, but the problem is Lyon has dumped Rico for a rider who will never be good enough in the future for this sort of experience to matter in King.

Rico can't have alot of complaints though as I thought his two performances last year in the SWC were a disgrace. Him and Nicholls attitude were repulsive.

Other three youngsters have the talent and time to make it so would have been a no brainer for them not to be in, but would have kept Rico in because there are no other young riders ready or good enough at the moment sadly.

Well Richardson agrees with Lyon

RICO BACKS LYON

Lee Richardson has backed new boss Rob Lyon's decision to give Britain's young guns a go in the Speedway World Cup.

Both Richardson (pictured) and Grand Prix rider Scott Nicholls have been left out of the team for Great Britain's opening meeting against Poland, Australia and Slovenia at Peterborough on Monday, July 13.

Instead Lyon has gone for Chris Harris, Edward Kennett, Tai Woffinden and SWC debutants Lewis Bridger and Danny King.

Richardson, who missed out on progressing in the Grand Prix qualifying rounds last weekend due to a kidney infection, said: "I had a long discussion with Rob and what he is doing sounds exciting.

"He wants to bring the boys through. None of them ride in Sweden and Poland on a regular basis and it's good for them to get this international experience."

Richardson, who was taken ill in his hotel in Croatia at the weekend ahead of the GP qualifier at Gorican, and also missed Lakeside's narrow 46-44 Elite League defeat at Belle Vue on Monday, has been put on stand-by to lead Team GB in the SWC race-off at Leszno - barring any nasty shocks at Peterborough.

So all this arguing as been for nothing then.. thanks Ajh. lol

Poland's coach decided to choose Miedzinski instead of Holta for the event at Peterborough. Maybe that's good as no one can moan now we are using some Norwegian :)

So the Polish line-up is:

1. Tomasz Gollob ©

2. Sebastian Ułamek

3. Piotr Protasiewicz

4. Adrian Miedziński

5. Jarosław Hampel

Well the team has been announced and the new Team GB manager has made the first howler, including Danny King over Lee Richardson. Nicolls I agree should not be in, but come on, King over Richardson, who is showing good form?

Rubbish choice IMO.

Could not agree Steve anymore. A huge inexperienced mistake from Rob Lyons. Rico out and Danny King in?? How embarassing to not select Lee Richardson on his form right NOW.

Look at the stats between Rico and King.

Hang your head in shame Rob Lyons..........your leadership is very misguided.

1) Do you really think we would do anything if we had picked the riders of old?

2) The young riders will not win the event, but they won't do much worse than a team of Nicholls, Richardson etc

3) This is obviously the start of a plan for the future and if in 3 or 4 years time Team GB wins the world cup then with the core of this team then how many of you will be complaining?

4) Give Rob Lyons a chance. Far too many people on here think the elite League is the be-all and end-all. It's not, get over it. Look at the success he's had in the PL, do you think its a fluke? The man clearly knows his stuff.

Looking from the outside if looks as if Lyon can't handle the big riders what was always going to be a worry because of his pl background .

Going to be a bleak period with this small time charlie as tm
