It's great to see the meeting back to where it was with some of the best young riders taking part.

Long way to go to match the glory days of this meeting in the 1970s when all the top riders were queueing up to take part in this meeting.

It has now sadly become little more than a talent spotting meeting.

Does anyone know why season tickets aren't valid?

Back in the day I remember some classic Coventry gaters in the meeting such as Alan Molyneux who would score...........................................................3,0,3,0,3 :P

Everything was better in the 70's. Wonder how Darcy would have faired back then...

Dissappointed that season tickets are not valid.

I'm not really sure how useful a tool this meeting is for taking a look at new talent.

The handicap formula puts a rider back 20 yards if he wins a heat - and if he hasn't been to the track before it is difficult to guage how good he is if he isn't familiar with lines to ride.

In the 70 s Darcy would probably have not got a look in at this meeting - he would probably have been invited to some form of challenge match when his and other new riders talent could have been better judged.

Good stuff! I'll let you know later in the week...: hopefully in person on Thursday...? How did the coat-buying tactic go..? I went with the 'put her on a plane to Spain' ruse this morning...: hence me being brave about Monday...!!!

Well barring unforeseen children lurgies, Thursday should now be ok, but the coat cost me £75 so not sure if it went well!!

Where you want to meet?

I'm sure season tickets were valid in the past.

I'm not sure I could cope with the gloating from the regulars, but this is usually an entertaining meeting.
