No disrespect to the line up but Somerset for me.

£5 cheaper and they have Crump, Andersen and Sayfutdinov.

Bit of a bugger if you live in Edinburgh though... Maybe £5 cheaper, but £100 in fuel costs kinda outweighs that!!!!!

There isn't really any reason to compare them though is there? In terms of rider quality there is no PL meeting this season, not even the PLRC, which will be anywhere near the standard of the Somerset meeting.

Goodness knows how it has been financed, perhaps they are hoping for a 10,000 crowd. I hope they get it.

... Not forgetting Somerset track specialist Niels K Iversen, Greg Walasek, Lee Richardson, Sebastion Ulamek and Lewis Bridger, amongst many many other possible winners on the night.

That is entirely the wrong question. If you saw the costs of the meeting you would see the admission is justified. the question is how can Somerset consider charging so little. I really don't know the answer to that.

You should probably turn that question on its head and ask how Somerset can charge such a low price for that line up - either someone's willing to underwrite the huge extra cost or they're gambling on a massive crowd to cover it.

Edinburgh on the other hand, use the Scottish Open to make some money to cover the inevitable losses that will occur at some meetings through the season, it's hard to argue with that really.

While I'm not a big fan of Individual Open meetings, and I think £18.00 is a bit too much, the extra will no doubt be justified by having more riders to pay expenses for than a regular team match, and about 7 extra races.

Do your team Glasgow charge extra for the Ashfield Classic each year, I'm fairly sure they do.
