Recommended Posts

I know there has been more changes this winter than usual, and all the deals may not yet be disclosed - but can anyone post the squad lists for the teams for 2010.?

Is there a rule in Poland about how many foreigners each team is allowed in one match, and if so how many?

The only rule they have in there these days is that at least three riders in one match need to have Polish licenses. That leaves 4 spots for foreigners. The other rule is that a team can have maximum 2 GP riders in one meeting.

Many other Brits in 1st and 2nd division:

Div 1

James Wright also at Miskolc

Josh Auty -Gdansk

Joe Haines, Ed Kennett and Ollie Allen at Grudziadz

Danny King at Poznan

Chris Harris at Rzeszow

Div 2:

Simon Walker at Rawicz!

If you add in those in the top league

Bridger and Woffinden at Czestochowa

Thats 13 Brits with contracts(Though not necessarily rides!) in Poland.

If my maths is right i make it 8 Poles with teams in the UK in 2010!!

So much for being swamped by Poles!!

There are quite a few Premier League sides who ride on sundays making it impossible for a Pole if they have a Polish team. As for the EL, the top Polish riders find it hard to commit to a full season, however you'll see a few added to teams during the season including Skornicki who is not fully fit yet.

It doesn't look good with all the top British riders riding in the 1st division in Poland, you could say Lewis and Tai are only where they due to their age.

I think were more swamped by Aussies and Danes ;)

Looks like Lublin are sliding losing Tomicek, Rempala and Stichauer and only bringing in Darkin.

Lodz will deffo not make any mistakes ths year and gain promotion

to be fair to the british riders:

Tai did well last season in the top flight and is there on merit, not just because he's a junior. Not convinced the same can be said for Bridger, but we will wait and see.

Also the 1st division is a tough division, and i think we will have 4 of the top 10 averaged riders in 2010 1st division.

Richardson is good enough for top flight easily. Kennett and Harris both did well towards the end of the 2009 season, and surely Nicholls will be able to handle that level of racing fairly comfortably!

I wouldn't bet on it... Nicholls proved himself to be one of the least efficient foreign riders in Polish speedway history. I don't really know if it is his attitude, tracks shapes, financials or something else but he turns out to be a big disappointment wherever he goes. 1-st league is apparently easier than extraleague but I still don't see him as one of the top riders there. Unless of course, his preparations become much more successful than they have been so far.
