Grachan

That's another fine race you've gotten me in to.

Recommended Posts

Heat 20 of the 1985 World Final, with Erik Gundersen needing to win to get into a run-off against Hans Neilsen and Sam Ermolenko. Shawn Moran and Lance King obviously want to try and keep Gundersen out to help Sam.

I'm continually impressed with the quality of the racing you have on tape Grachan :D

That has to be just about the best outside pass you would ever want to see with Gundersen going from third to first in half a lap or so. Brilliant stuff.

Cheers for that one! It was a real roller-coaster of a meeting that one, with Erik only getting a third place in his first ride, and then needing to win his last to set up a run-off for the title.

Its probably my favourite race of all time.

Great Minds Grach....

If you couldn't do 1981 WTC Mort/Gundersen/Muller, this was my no 2 pick. Hats off to you and the winner of this race (don't want to spoil it for anyone!)

I'm just wondering if my PC is acting weird Grachan. Usually it's an entire race but this time I only get a lap and a half.

Is it me ? I have had some PC problems lately and I'm thinking it might be !!

Just tried it on mine and it's okay. Are you sure you haven't finally used up all that disk space?

Thanks Grachan.

Just tried again and is ok this time. I've had a trojan that I had all sorts of bother with and I was downloading your clip while I was getting rid of the trojan and somehow I think the clip got butchered in the process.

All sorted now :D

what a race....

and...

what a commentator

A legend indeed. Some of my favourites Lanningisms:

"Poetry on Wheels" - Peter Collins

"Heat Seeking Missile" - Kenny Carter

"Applecart Merchant" - Egon Muller

Sometimes, I didn't know what he was on about, but he always brought colour to every broadcast.

Kenny Carter was being interviewed by Gary (Somebody) on World of Sport. The conversation went like this.

Gary" I understand you have new baby Kenny what you going to call it."

KC "Well Gary i was thinking of calling it after you."

Gary "Really Thats nice he said smileing.

Kc Thats right were calling him Wally

Yes folks, this is it - the last one.

The British Speedway Season is now back, and Swindon are where they belong once more, in the top flight. Hopefully the racing will be as good as this race between Jimmy Nilsen and Jeremy Doncaster in 1988.
