I have subscribed for the text updates from the NA and also the newsletters, heard absolutely nothing

Weather for tomorrow doesn't look too good, so if there are some that might be travelling a fair distance it may be worth keeping an eye on here on your mobiles or ring the NA.

I would guess at about £5-£6 to the stadium.

There is a bus that runs past the stadium as well (Norfolk Green - Route 46) but the last one leaves the rail station at 17:47 according to this timetable so that might be a bit early?

BTW - You have a PM

I subscribed to receive the newsletter via email, but the last one I received was last Monday (March 15th) about the youth team sponsorship and the press and practice. Haven't received one for the meeting tonight AFAIK, which is a bit weird as I thought they were going to be emailing us every week like they did last year?

One again the weather is an uncertainty! All the weather sites I've been on says it's either showers or light rain from 6pm, so it'll be a case of humming over whether to venture out or not... If it does go ahead, will be good to catch up with the people who I haven't seen for most, if not all, of the winter months :approve:

Nice and sunny in Lynn at the moment. Long may that continue :approve:

EDP meeting preview:

King's Lynn racer Kevin Doolan is already sensing positive vibes ahead of tonight's Ashley Jones memorial meeting curtain raiser at the Norfolk Arena (7.45pm).

Rob Lyon's men swept the Premier League board last season and Doolan is one of a quartet of new faces looking to tune up for the club's treble defence against a select squad in honour of his former Lynn team mate.

“There's already a good atmosphere around the group,” he said. “Let's settle into the season first and not do anything stupid or get any injuries and I'm sure it will all gel from there.

“I think the balance looks perfect with Tomas (Topinka) and myself perhaps seen as the elder statesmen who can pass down the advice and a really solid mid-range to our group with people like Kozza (Smith) who have a bit of experience but youth on their side. Then we've got the really untried guys who are basically starting out. We've got a lot of talent there - we just need to breed it in the right way.”

Doolan raced alongside Jones during the club's 2005 Young Shield and KO Cup wins before his friend's death in a winter racing crash. The Aussie's younger brother, Mark, will lead a select side of familiar faces to celebrate the Aussie's brief Saddlebow career.

“From a personal point of view I have a lot of great memories from when we rode here together,” said Doolan. “It's good to jog those memories from time to time and tell those stories. It's special for me and it's great that Mark, his brother, is over as well and guys like Olly (Allen) so it will be an enjoyable night.

“We get to race our bikes and see plenty of friendly faces and something I am looking forward. I'm looking forward to it and it's a great way to start the season. It'll be good practice for the boys against a team with some top riders like Olly and King's Lynn regulars.”

Doolan aims to return with a bang this season at his spiritual speedway home.

“I've already had a press day, two meetings and three practices, which is probably the most I have ever done at this stage of the season,” he said. “I want to make sure my machinery is 110pc. There were a few mechanical gremlins for everybody last week at practice, which is fine at this stage of the year, you want to iron them out for when the real action starts.

“For me, personally, it's been a chance to do some testing because over the past few years I've been really, really busy. This year is all about putting my head down and working towards the future.”

Stars: 1 Tomas Topinka, 2 Linus Eklof, 3 Kozza Smith, 4 Joe Haines, 5 Kevin Doolan, 6 Casper Wortmann, 7 Ricky Wallace.

Ashley Jones select: 1 Ty Proctor, 2 James Brundle, 3 Chris Schramm, 4 Chris Mills, 5 Olly Allen, 6 Mark Jones, 7 Simon Lambert.

Admission prices: Adults £13, concessions £10, juniors (aged 12 to 15) £5 and free entry for children aged 11 and under.
