ladyluck 1 Posted May 1, 2011 Totally random and uninteresting fact: The Olympic Stadium in Wroclaw has hosted home football matches for two nations, Poland and Germany. It was also once officially called "The Herman Goring Stadium", back in the days when Wroclaw was Breslau.
pawel115 251 Posted May 1, 2011 Yep Germans build it back in the dark chapter of their history for 1936 Olympics.

brandonbee48 1,194 Posted May 1, 2011 Cloudy looks like it may rain at any moment Alan. If the winds are from the south, it is guaranteed. Been an absolutely miserable spring here. Looks nice there. I hope there is a little more dirt down than yesterday. I thought it was fairly good, and lots of incidents, but would have been a tad better with more dirt down. Lets look forward to some good racing today. Regards. Alan,

ladyluck 1 Posted May 1, 2011 No, that is interesting. Appreciated. Okay, I'll try again: when it was first constructed the stadium "enjoyed" the name Leerbeutel, which means, literally, "empty sack".
ladyluck 1 Posted May 1, 2011 Great effort from Kuciapa in Ht 5, but fairly woeful from Shields at the back. The Lakeside Hammers not exactly puling up trees in Lower Silesia so far.

brandonbee48 1,194 Posted May 1, 2011 I noticed yesterday that Canal+ showed it. Did they outbid TVP for the rights. It was very good coverage.
ladyluck 1 Posted May 1, 2011 Seven heats down and still all square in the battle of Poland's female administrators. The Wroclaw club is run by the formibable Krystyna Kloc, while Rzeszow is run by the no-nonsense Marta Poltorak. Both tough cookies.
