I know Vitaly Shilo personally.

He has lived in the United States since 1990.

He came to Rivne (Ukraine) twice: in 2008 and in 2012.

I released a booklet about him.

And Vitaliy Shilo was in 2012 at the presentation of this booklet in Rivne at the museum ...

That is great! I saw that Vitaly now lived here; I think he moved to California, or somewhere on the west coast. My father witnessed his terrible accident.

So, do you remember any of the other Russians from the 60's, like Boris Samorodov, Yuri Chekranov, Gab Kadirov, and Vitaly Shilo?

All just names to me. I don't recall having anything to do with speedway after about 1962. Next following spasmodically from the mid-1970s.

Strange, as just a few minutes ago you posted that some of your photos from the end of the 60s /start of the 70s are in the Jimmy Somerville collection !!!

That's correct. At that time I was involved in photography and my visits to Wimbledon speedway were photographic jobs that came my way. I went because I was paid to be there - not that I made a specific personal choice to be there because 'speedway was taking place.' In those years I also photographed other sports including football, rugby, baseball, cricket.

But that to me contradicts the statement ‘ I don’t recall having anything to do with speedway after about 1962’

But glad you have clarified that

You don't give up do you? How many years have you dedicated to making me look ridiculous - at least 10! When I talk of involvement with speedway after 1962 it was that I had no interest in its activities or happenings. Yes, I did take some speedway photos but my agent also used to arrange for me to go to other sports. The fact that I went to speedway in 1962 circa was because it was just a job assignment. Whatever the meeting/meetings were had no direct interest from me. Smile please! Click! Gotcha!

Relax, How am I supposed to second guess what you mean ?

You have now clarified the situation that although you don’t recall having anything to do with speedway after about 1962 you did attend and take photos for a job assignment

To be fair, John, you bring a lot of it upon yourself, certainly the way you contradict yourself.

I'm also a little disappointed with you at the moment. You were repeatedly asking the same question on the "Riders who never made it" thread, and seemed increasingly agitated by the fact that nobody could/would respond.

As a BSF member who could answer from personal experience, I took the time and effort to provide a response from different perspectives. Not for the first time, you chose to ignore what I had to say - and and the fact that I even responded to you - even though the subject appeared to be a life or death matter to you.

Admit it iris123! You are dedicated to hounding other BSF members. I have several Facebook contacts who have quit the BSF because they tired or your ongoing 'persecution.

When I talk of having something to do with speedway the definition is active participant involvement in some way as a supporter or helper. Sadly you appears to specialise in twisting remarks. When I talk of having something to do with speedway it is to participate in the sport in some way. Going on a photographic assignment at speedway is far from that - just a photo job. I could have been offered an alternative - you don't have to be interested in the sport to photo it.

Your ongoing dedication to criticising me is, as others have suggested in private contacts, something personal. Why after some 10 years of does the perpetual criticism of me continue? You can obtain medical advice for this problem! To  me it appears you urgently need it

Thank you chunky. I appreciate this. The thread you refer to was only criticised by me as I thought the title of it was based and themed on every rider who entered speedway failed because they did not become world champion.

Many comments were excellent. All I was trying to make clear that not every starter in speedway did so with an objective of being world champion.

I enjoyed following it. Some excellent thoughtful replies were made.

That's still totally ignoring the specific question you had and the response I gave - the ONLY response to your question.

I give up. I accept whatever you said. I  was wrong. Whatever iris123 puts out is entirely correct. I am too old to maintain attempted (???) responses. I have had at all times had interests outside speedway, I don't understand why some BSF posters ASSUME I have a deep lasting involvement with the sport.

Forgive me for not knowing what you consider to be ‘ involved in speedway’ my understanding would be an assignment to take photos as being involved, so I am sure my confusion is easy to comprehend. But I do thank you for clarifying to my satisfaction your own personal stance on the matter. It is clear now

The 'man who is never wrong' strikes again! After 10 years (probably longer) for reasons best known to his own 'Germanic' mind iris123 has 'delighted' in belittling me. I wonder why. He has according to some Facebook contacts I have driven others from the BSF. Probably I am also in that target frame? I wonder why?

FFS!

Not sure why you are being abusive. I have explained my confusion and you have clarified the situation. As far as I am concerned the matter is closed

That type of language will only earn you yet another ban I fear
